17/02/2012 农历1月26日 (Fri): Today i had went alone to Hougang to watch getai. I had took two days leave for this medical appintment. For my medical appointment at TTSh, I am quite happy with my TTSh appointment, not going to reveal much, just that i am glad at my medical result. I will be going to polyclinic for my follow up appointment, i sort of miss my nice doc at TTSH..All i can said is my nice doc at TTSh had saved my life..will miss her..

I had met my ex-colleagues- one is a nice guy that i knew from my 3 short months at my ex company, the other been my ex ITE classmate for dinner. 3 boring months at my old company as compared to 4.5 years from my ex-ex company. My ex-colleagues are quite a fun lot, we took dinner at City Square. After my meal, i took the train to hougang to watch getai.

The field was quite wet... Today i watched only with my camera, that is a good thing coz i do not really enjoy today getai.

14/02/2012 农历1月23日 (Tue): Went to AMK 409. We had missed the bus at our stop so we walked all the way to Blk 409 from the 453 market. Good exercise with my chairs..haha.

Today getai is okay. quite all right. And can get to listen to a new getai singer songs.

07/02/2012 农历1月16日 (Tue): Regret going to tonight getai. Firstly, the field was vvv terrible, all wet and muddy. Secondly, i am bitten by grass flies, was stretching my legs here and there.. haizz..

Singers wise, are also boring..not enjoy totally.. except ting ting but she started her song with a 10 min song so need to bye bye when she came on stage.

06/02/2012 12 农历正月初十五(Mon): Today I had went direct to Sheng Hong Temple for getai after work. From my workplace at Ubi Ave 3, i need to take an 20 min walk to the temple. I am able to reach there by 630pm.

Today is quite a unique performance because all the singers are from 全球闽南语歌唱大赛. The name of today performance is called 全球闽南语歌唱大赛精英集聚狮城闹元宵演唱会2012. It is worthwhile the time to watch from 7.30 to 1045pm. I had taken two seats, mum only arrived after 830 pm and i had a difficult time telling her of the seats. Should have take note of the location.

I had finally find a nice program to watermark my photos, will watermark all my photos in future. I wanted to create an image watermark but the ones i created are not good. Maybe should polish my photoshop so that i can create better logos.

Singapore 林轩汉 - His stage performance is only in the hokkien competition but overall, he perform quite well, just need to learn to speak loud and clear to audience next time, hope he can perform in getai soon too.

Malaysia 陈雪芬 - very pretty, i quite enjoy her performance. Heard her dressing had won her some prizes in the Hokkien competition. She is not a new bird, she had perform in getais in Malaysia.

Singapore 周俊安 or in getai, his 艺名 - 宏扬. I still prefer his chinese songs.

Indonesia 周月婷, i did not really listen to her songs as that time, i am busily directing mum to my seats

Singapore 黄振隆, all hosts agreed his singing had improved tremendously, i am just okay wit his singing.. although he is good but then...

Hao Hao Performance time - he sang two songs tonight. I had rec both songs and uploaded them. I am not satified with the quality of my video, it should be better without so many dots..haizz

Malaysia 蔡铭国 - he is a talent, both in composing songs and in singing. Do not judge him by his looks coz his singing rocks..

Taiwan 蔡怡芬 - I find her singing to be too soft while the music is too loud.

Taiwan 李俊杰 - we left after he appeared as his performanc is at 1045 and we need to catch the bus home. He looked like mini Zhuang Qingyu..haha, never hear his singing seriously but i guess he is good too.

04.05.12 农历正月初十三日（Sat): went for one last night of gezaixi for mum and myself. There is another one very last show on sunday but we will not be going.

Mum was not pleased with today performance coz today story had no meaning. Haha, i am okay coz certain part of the story are quite funny.

戏名：水姑娘找安

Story line is quite simple:

100 years ago, a guy left his wife and daughter. His wife and daughter later died when robbers tried to rape them. The wife killed the young daughter and later knocked her head to death.

100 years later, a guy was good for nothing except going to find prostitutes and spending all his dad money. As a result, he was chased away from home. In the wood, he saw a group of young ladies dancing and singing. He followed them to a temple. Unknow to him, these ladies are actually ghosts. The prettiest of them all - shui gu niang requested him to marry him. As the guy think she is pretty, he agreed. The guy returned home. When he showed his dad a bag consisting of a death cert, the father realised his son was haunted by a ghost. The dad hired a priest whom do nothing to prevent the haunting. As a result, the guy married the ghost. On the wedding night, the son and his girlfriend played with the ghost tablet. The ghost was angry and haunted the dad and son. The dad later kille himself while his wife pleaded with the ghost to let the whole family go. the wife agreed to let his son marry the ghost.

Fast forward to present year, the ghosts are playing in the wood

Good for nothing son was only interested in his prostitute girlfriend and spending his dad fortune

Angry with another day of spending all his money, the dad finally chased useless son away from home

In the wood, the guy meet the ghosts. but he had no idea whom they are. He followed them to their house, an old temple

He asked shui gu niang to let him stay overnight. Shui gu niang then requested him to marry her and he agreed.

The guy returend home and his dad realised he was haunted by a ghost

A priest was hired

At the temple, the story was backwarded to 100 years ago where shui gu niang was murdered by her own mother as the mother do not want them to be rape by robbers. The mum later killed herself too

The guy decided to bring his GF to see ghost

The priest was defended. He suggested the family to allow the ghost to marry the son

Marriage was conducted

In own room, the son and his GF mistreated the tablet and the ghost was angry

The ghost decided to find the family

The dad kena first but later he killed himself.

The mum pleaded with the ghost to let the son off. She agreed when the son agreed to the marriage.

The son eventually married a ghost and his GF

03.02.12 农历正月初十二日(Fri):Went to Temple at only 830pm. Initally thought tickets are all sold out coz the counter were already closed. Luckily we went to the office to buy sat tickets and then also bought today ticket.

The story of today story is smiliar to the one i watched by Chen Mei Yun in year 2005. Almost all the plot are the same. Actually the story is similar to Chen Shimei - Bao Gong An.

戏名：施公案

A guy saved a princess. He was able to entered the palace as a result. When the princess agreed to marry him, the guy agreed despite he been already married. He had lied to the lord, wang ye whom quetioned whether he was married. So the princess marry the guy. One day, princess and her fu ma went to the outer area. The wife happen to see the guy and recongised him as her long lost husband. She chased him all the way to his house. Upon seeing her, he lied that he will inform the princess he had already married. After she left, the guy send a killer to murder his wife and mother. His younger brother escaped and found wang ye to help him find justice. The princess mum tried to stop the trial. With no choice, wang ye went to find his father to help him.

Second trial -As the corpses of the mother and wife went missing, the trial was stopped. However, a drunker appeared in the court and told wang ye he found two bodies and kept them in his house. The bodies were recovered. The ghost of the wife make the husband in a dizzy state. The truth was revealed and the guy was arrested.

For his own interest, he lied that he was never married

Poor wife, mum and younger brother were in the dark

In an outing, the poor wife saw the heartless fellow

Without doubt, she decided to chase heartless

Heartless lied and stupid wife believe. In the end, she was still killed by a killer send by heartless. so is the mum.

Younger brother find justice with wang ye but the first trial was unsucessful coz the Empress Dowager side with heartless

太上王 to help

In the second trial, a drunker found the bodies and provided it for younger brother to give evidence. Heartless was bewitched by the spirit of the wife and in the end, the truth was revealed.

29/01/2012 农历正月七日 (Sun): Went to Blk 453 AMK alone coz mum was not keen to watch a dinner getai. I am also not too keen but since got idol and the venue is so near, i just go to watch.

I can only watch from the stall area coz the further side was too far from the stage and i am blocked by the waitress.

27.01.12 农历正月初五 (Fri): Went to Sheng Hong Temple and were late for opera coz stupid bus 76 did not arrived despite us waiting for 15 min.. haizz.. so much for better bus services in Singapre, it will never happen.. In the end, we took bus 73 to YCK road and transfer bus 43 to sheng hong temple.

We did not enjoy today opera, mainly becoz today is a tragic story. I think if the opera name suggust a tragic feel, should not have watch the opera coz it is vv boring to watch a tragic opera.

Very simple story:

Woman fall in love with guy. Guy need to leave woman. Woman's dad forced her to marry another guy. Ex lover jealous, killed hubby. Woman killed herself. Ex lover died too. Boring story plot, make me play with my phone towards the end.

24.01.12 农历正月初二（Tue): Day 2 watching Opera. I quite enjoy the story today.

盘丝洞 as the story mentioned is about spider spirit and related to 西遊記. Xiu Qin opera had added 红孩儿，女人国, 蜘蛛精 to the same story plot. Only 红孩儿 is a small area while the other two story are merged into one story plot. Quite like this merging.. not the same as the one we watched long time ago.

Xiu Qin and her daugher, Xin Yi really acted very well esp Xin Yi as Sun Wu Kong. Mum was full of praises for xin yi acting. I too enjoyed today opera very much.

孫悟空、唐僧、豬八戒、沙僧 on their quest to the west

红孩儿 tried to create trouble for the foursome. 红孩儿 is casted by 米雪

Spider spirit fight piggy. Sun Wu Kong tried to fight spider spirit but was defeated. His master was captured by the demons

Wu Kong appeared as a woman so that he can approach his master that was captured by spider spirit

Spider spirit wanted to marry tang san

WU Kong tricked spider spirit to drink as celebration of the wedding

Wu Kong informed his master of his plan. He planned to switch body with his master.

Switch body, wu kong is now master. master is now wu kong.. this is so funny

Wu Kong makde fun of the spider spirit. Xiu Qin demonstated that she is 宝刀
未老 by jumping here and there. Really admire her. After saving his master, they switched their body back

Eventually spider spirt was defeated

23.01.12 农历正月初一（Mon): Went to Sheng Hong Temple to watch opera. Had been anticipating Xiu Qin Opera for a while so at last today is the day.

I do not really understand today story but nevertheless i do enjoy today show.I do understand the plot but there are certain parts that are confusing.

Story Line:
X fall in love with an princess and marry her. Meanwhile his dad was left with his 18 months old baby. The grandfather met a guy in the street. Having shared their burden with each other, they decided to let their own children marry. However, the grandfather grandson was only 18 months while the other daughter is already 16 years old. Having no choice, the girl take care of the baby and treated him as his own brother. When the son grown up, he fall in love with another lady. As the son is already indebted to his sister, he took his sister as his first wife.

Having Fall in love,X decided to stay in the other nation with the Princess

Because of an misunderstanding, the father misheard his son in law to be 18 years old but in fact the son was only an 18 month infant.

The daughter at first decided to leave. Daughter is casted by 莊金梅, a very lovely xiao dan with nice voice

As the son had no father to take care, the daugher decided to take care of the baby and treated him as her own brother

The child father decided to return to his homeland to find his son

Whole cast came out for CNY songs. Mum had asked me to record this song but i do not wanted a repeat of last year where i am stopped by someone for taking video. Haizz.. can only say disappointment. one of the photos got a boy, this boy is Chen Zhi ming son.. those in FB will sure know one.

张心怡 - xiu qin daughter as the grown up son. I like her as xiao sheng, she had the xiao sheng look, thin and fair..she is only 21 years old

22/01/2012 农历12月29日（Sun): Went to Sheng Hong Temple very late, we reached there at 840pm. Since we will not be able to pray to Tian Gong for 3 years, after our dinner, we went to watch getai.

Was really happy today. Today managed to take a video of Taiwan Xiu Qin wonderful singing. She was actually on stage to promote her opera troupe but Ah Nam made her sing one song. Althought she only sing one song, i am very happy to see her on stage today. We had bought tickets for tml performance, really really anticipating the excellent performance. Her song is so powerful.. really nice. Suddenly miss watching gezaixi very very much, feel like watching on tue again since it is also PH.

20/01/2012 农历12月27日（Fri): Went to Sheng Hong Temple. We were late tonight. after taking bus, we only reached at 840pm. Then we went to buy tickets for Chu Yi Taiwan Opera Troupe. At the ticket counter, we cannot resisted watching the taiwan opera. I remember that time i told my ex colleague that i liked to watch getaixi, he was liking telling me he and i almost young age.. i am like..???. I know what he meant. Normally young singaporeans (i not so young also lah but i watched gezaixi since Year 2006 in Sheng Hong Temple) do not watch Opera. I only watched Taiwan opera and i truly enjoy gezaixi as much as getai.

I watched for around 945pm after the opera troupe members came out to sing CNY greetings to audience. I had watched Xiu Qin Last year too, their performance are not too bad but it is unfortunate that sheng hong temple do not allow video recording. Actually for me, i wil not record whole show, i just liked certain songs in gezaixi like the 百花开, 茶花女調 and 状元调. It is quite a disappointment but over in youtube, there are dozens of taiwan opera lovers that took video of different troupe in Taiwan and uploaded them to youtube. It is their love for opera that keep Taiwan Opera to become so famous... Singapore Opera, the only troupe i like is xiao qi ling coz they always used taiwanese in their performance.

14/01/2012 农历12月21日(sat): Went to Blk 123 Yishun. Today was quite an enjoyable performance. Top hosts with top band. We arrived at 8 30 pm. Quite late but the MRT was very packed since CNY coming. I realised i am never early for getai. those days i am early are super rare.

07/01/2012 农历12月14日（sat): Today went to 'lao ma zai' to watch getai. Those whom knew me know that i never went far to watch getai but today is special. Today is a Saturday and the getai started in the afternoon at 12 to 4 pm. I am quite familiar with 三清宫 as Ah ma and Ah gong columbarium are placed at the 3rd storey.

Today is a nice getai.. love it a lot. The area is not as hot was last sat at sembawang since the tentage is beside the trees area.

05/01/2012 农历12月12日 (Thur): Went to old tampines Road. Was very happy today coz i finally get to see a live firefly in front of the stage. Very happy to see the firefly, i wonder how many audience seen that firefly..

Love today getai to the max - good hosts, got my fav getai idol, good LED lighting and good performance. 6 stars for this wonderful getai performance.

31.12.2011 (sat): Went to an afternoon getai at sewbawang, it is actually a private house Open House. We went out at 11 plus and waited for the free bus outside sewambang MRT Exit D. When we reached there, we realised there was limited tentage. Most of us whom wanted to watch getai needed to stay under the food tentage that do little to offer shade to us. Mum was complaining that she wanted to go home.. but i wanted to watch. luckily at 2, the boss allowed us to go inside the VIP tentage. So mum and I went super near to the stage. We are still not fully sheltered from the sun but at least there is some shade. The VIP table ppl are really nice by giving us drink and food, nice nice... clap hands..

Really appreciate Singer Wang Wen Ling for waiting for mum and i to be seated before she started singing. Really nice to see singers showing concern for audience. And Wen Ling singing is super hot and nice. I only managed to get 1 clear video of her from the front. The rest of her video i had took from the rear tentage that are blocked by ppl walking up and down.

I love today getai. very concert style and lot of wonderful singers, not forgetting got my idol.So despite the hot sun, it is worthwhile to attend this afternoon getai. I am lucky to remember to bring my sunglasses today, otherwise i will see stars when i went into shade..

25/12/2011 农历12月1日 (Sun): Went to Blk 223 AMK with mum. We are rather late as we alighted at the wrong stop and need to take bus 262 back to the correct bus stop. We reached there at around 9pm.

Like today stage, very concert styling. And very happy to see idol performance today.

24/12/2011 农历11月30日 (Sat): Went to getai after two months MIA. Those whom viewed my fb probably knew my dad already passed away on 18-12-12. He was ill for 6 months. We are busy for 5 days but we knew dad is in a nice place with no suffering and can be able to walk again. Dad, we will miss you.

13.11.11 - Went to Hao Hao birthday party at AMK Hub, NTUC club, scarlet City. Paid $30 for two tickets that included - 1 free drink and entry tickets. Mum and I choose to drink beer.. happening.. to listen to music and drinking beer. Anyway, we had free food also, understand those food are cooked by the aunties.

Quite enjoyable to listen to idol songs. All the songs are very nice, never hear at getai one. Mum was saying she almost fall asleep coz she prefer hokkien songs more than chinese songs. But for me, i love those mandarin songs sing by Hao Hao. I forgot to say birthday greeting to him when he shake my hands.. a bit anxious to see him suddenly appear before my eyes so i forget what to say except thank you. hahahaha...

Other than Hao Hao, his company 师妹 also came - got Jessica Tan, Liu Xin Ling, BBJM, Vanessa and Li Jun.

The photos are all ugly coz the area is too dark for me to take nice photos so please pardon my ugly photos.

18/11/2011 农历10月23日 (Fri): Went by myself to the area, mum got cousin to drive her over to the getai area. For myself, wait for a long time for bus 103 and managed to retch the place by 8.25pm. Luckily i got bring my precious chair with me coz i am able to secure a place quite near the stage. Mum only arrived at 9 plus but she spent her time talking to cousin instead.

Today getai is not too bad.. quite enjoyable esp the performance of yiwen and xin ling. I left at 1020pm after chen jian bing appeared.

06/11/2011 农历10月11日 (Sun): Went to Blk 217 serangoon central with mum tonight. Initally had wanted to go to Sengkang West but luckily i checked on fb and realised there is one tai near my area. I do not really like going to Sengkang West as the area is diffiuclt to catch a bus. The last time i went, we walked 10 min out to main road to take bus 70. Bus 103 took forever to come so if i wanted to be fast, i will need to walk 10 min out to main road.

Back to tonight, tonight is only an okay getai but host is very entertaining so not too bad.

08/10/2011 农历9月12日 (Sat): Went to Jalan Kayu getai today with Mum. Today getai started at 4 pm but we are very early today. We reached there at 3.40 pm before the getai started. Thought we choose a good seats but we are blocked by audience standing in front of us so we shifted to the other side. We had choose to sit under the tentage as the sky do not look good with black clouds coming. Luckily the black clouds disappeared.

Really enjoy tonight getai. Other than the yew keng where the nine Jade Emperor will go to the new temple, there are fireworks - 3 round with the first round being the longest and most spectacular is the first fireworks lasting at least 5 min. Love the firework though it is a pity part of the firework is blocked by the tentage but no complaints coz it is really beautiful. Forget to mention, there are free flow of food and drinks for us to drink..nice nice.. today is really a fun day.

23/08/2010 农历7月24日（Tue): I went out alone tonight. Reached the area at around 745pm. Mum and dad said they will come later after dinner. But at around 9 pm, mum said the area got no chairs so they decided to go to AMK Blk 577 instead. Tonight in AMK alone, there are 6 getais - the ones i knew are:

13/07/2011 农历7月14日 (Sat): Today is quite a busy day. Morning had took DDX to the vet. DDX had a skin problem. After the vet visit, sis and I went to perm our hairs at AMK hair Journal. We only managed to reach home at around 7.40pm. Then i waited for mum to finish her dinner before we set out to our nearby factory to watch getai.

We arrived at 8.30, the getai ended at 1120pm. Quite late but as this is in an industrial area, this is normal to continue pass the 1030 cut off time for most HDB nearby getais.

Today getai is not bad.. enjoy the songs very much.

12.08.11 农历7月13日 (Fri): At first, i had though of going to Hougang Blk 17 to watch Lan Tian. Then at around 7.25pm, i heard some sound outside my area. On clearer listening, realised that for the first time, the factory in front of my block is hosting a getai cum dinner event.

As i am not sure, i walked to take a look. There are only two ppl outside, none entering the building. So after my dinner, i walked down again. Not sure if i can enter the building so after some thought, i stand next to Sheng Shiong supermarket next door and watch from the fences.

Singers lists are only 5-6 singers, the one i missed are Kai Qing, Pei Zhi, another female, think is Ting Ting voice (TBC). There is a guy singing when i walked down, think he is jun Long. While Jun long was singing, i saw BBJM arriving. I went up to grab my camera and rushed back. When i walked back, saw more ppl entering the factory. So i followed too. 'Unfortunately' while the view is nice, the getai ended at 9 pm sharp. But it was enjoyable coz this getai location is so near home.

09/08/2011 农历7月10日 (Tue): Went to Blk 342 AMK alone. Had bring my portable chair as i had expected a great crowd turnout. As expect, the crowd is bigger than i expected. Managed to be 'thick skin' and shifted my chair in the very last row, luckily my chair is very small only, dun care a bit if others scolded me coz i never blocked anyone.

Today getai is not bad. No comment abt the host.. but i enjoyed the singers' list tonight. Got my idol singing, i enjoy idol singing the most.. it is the reason why i choose to go to tonight getai at Blk 342 as i know he is coming to sing. I heard 881 director is also here tonight to watch the getai, so Liu Ling Ling and Bao En had sing 十二莲花 for him to listen.

05/08/2011 农历7月06日 (Fri): Arrived only at around 8.30 pm. The getai area is so poorly arranged. Parking Lots still got cars, only a miserable plot of land avaliable for crazy joker queen to chop the seats.

Luckily, right opposite the getai stage is a HDB buidling. I asked mum to sit in the chairs we brought. For me, i went right to the second floor to watch the getai. Second floor give a clear view of the stage, i would said much better than ground area. Because of my superzoom camera, taking photos are not a problem for me. Of couse, some photos are not as clear as others coz using a P&S camera still cannot match a DSLR camera but overall, i am satfied with the output of my camera. I had low expect for my camera so long as it can capture the photos slightly clearer and bigger.

25.07.11 农历6月25日 (Mon): Today went to nearby Blk 153 alone again. Not really enjoy today performance as much as yesterday. Think are due to the singers listing today. No other comments on why is this so. I just know that i wanted to go home at 10 already. I arrived at 815pm tonight.

On a better note, peifen is a good singer. Love her 3 songs today. Another singer i enjoy is Malaysian singer, Wang Yi Wen. Yi Wen is so pretty, i cannot help taking lot of photos of her beautiful face.

Today is my first time testing my camera. Bought a Nikon S9100. I quite like the zoom, can take super clear photos.

05.07.11 (Tue): I manged to be the top 20 person to win a VIP ticket for today Getai STOMP award in Lexs FB. Was very excited to go. After 6pm, i waited nearly 15 min before i can get a cab. I need to be at the venue by 6.45pm, the lastest time i need to register myself at the counter. Luckily, i managed to reach at 635pm.

Not sure where is the registration counter but i managed to find the one and only counter there and register myself. Next is to find my seat. Was super pissed off with stupid joker queen susan. I cannot find the way to the VIP seats so i enter the front audience seats where queen joker was choping the seats there. She said to me that the area cannot enter, i just answered with a "什么". Actually i am thinking i can enter one barrier area but how to enter so i just answer that to queen joker. That crazy woman turned bizarre and started to scold me. I merely answered "why must you be so angry" in chinese and walked away. Luckily meet a usher whom guide me to the VIP seats. Crazy woman. By the way, there is no sign on how to get to the VIP seats so you had to guess the correct way to enter. I meant for a first timer, i really had no idea where i should go and how to go. But anyway, my mood is still okay after this.

I am glad to meet another getai fan. We exchanged contact and chitchat with each other. Nice to know her.. at least got company.

My VIP ticket, it is actually a sticker for you to stick to your top so that the usher can identify you and assist you to your seats. Beside the ticket, i also got a goodies bag on my seat

Today Hosts: FM100.3 DJ, i only remember the female host is xiaozhu. Edit - 10.07.11, 1228pm, just learnt from fb that the male host is sun wen hai.

17/06/2011 农历5月16日（Fri): Went to watch getai alone. Today got my idol hosting. Was quite surprised that the area was on the ex blk 454 AMK area, was expecting the area to be further away so this is a pleasant surprise for me.

Today getai is so so only although got my idol. Maybe not so good coz he did not sing his own songs today.

I arrived at 8 pm, missing qi qi and weiyou singing. did hear weiyou sing her last song but did not take any photos.

12/06/2011 农历5月11日（Sun): Went to Blk 339 AMK alone again. I was rather late tonight, only managed to reach there at 8.30 pm. There were lot of people... wow..

At around 10 pm when i checked my handphone, saw sister sms that nau nau (hei bao bao) was not feeling well. So i was not in the mood to watch, rushed home after hearing Ting Ting sang her second song.

(Update on 13.06.11 - We asked uncle vincent to help us take Nau Nau to the vet as both of us were working. As expected, nau nau was bitten by Guni.. aiyo, poor girl, got a fever and was badly hydrated, she was put on a drip)

11.06.11 （Fri): Long time never blog. This is because of some personal matter but hopefully everything will be fine.. really pray.

Went to watch getai alone yesterday. I was very late, only get to be there by 830 but luckily the area was not crowded and there are lot of chairs. I am able to get a good location.

Today getai is a okay only performance, nothing wow... but i really enjoyed coz i had not watched getai for so long. It is really a good activity for me to relax.

I had set my camera mode to 'P', ISO 1600, DR: 400. It is a shame, i had been using Fuji 200EXP for over 1 year but yet i had been using only the 'Auto' mode for photos. I am not sure how much different are the current photos different from the olders one. Now from the research i done, 'P' Mode with the setting of ISO 1600 is the best for outdoor low light shooting. But I am going to cast Fuji away and use canon Sx230 soon.. bye fuji and hello Canon. Fuji will just be my outdoor camera while Canon will be my getai camera. Fuji for the daily activity and Canon for the zoom.

14.05.11 （Sat): Today went to sheng Hong temple to watch gezaixi. Somehow, today opera is not very good - not sure of reason although i loved taiwan gezaixi. Maybe today is sad story mah. Think the huadan and xiaosheng not charming enough although their performance were very good. Hua dan is a bit plump to be xiao sheng while xiao sheng was too short. But had to say - overall performance were prefect as like each and every taiwan opera shown in singapore.

09.05.11 农历4月7日 (Mon): Finally get to see getai after a near 2 weeks disappearance. Quite satified with today getai. Got my idol with peifen - they are a good pair of hosts. Also today got quite a number of excellent singers from Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan. They are Bao En and her little 师妹，ZiWei From Malaysia, BBJM from Singapore and 赖慧如 from Taiwan. Ziwei mei mie is the cutest, only 10 and when she speak, she speak like a little lamb but when she sing, her voice so power.

Not bad, excellent getai today. I arrived at 8 pm, only missed Weiliang performance.

07.05.11 (Sat): Election 2011

07.05.11 (Sat): Today Workers' Party set the first record for entering into Parliament by breaking the unbreakable GRC.

Aljunied GRC was won by WP tonight. It was a great win. The winning was reversed. In the last election 2006, WP got around 44% votes while PAP got over 50% votes. Now the votes are clearly reserved.

PAP 59,732. WP 72,165. Spoilt 1,788. 54.71% WP, PAP 45.21%

Hougang was also win by WP, Yaw Shin Leong.

Workers' Party had done us proud for wining a GRC. Finally.. But their other teams that fight but lose in other SCM and GRC lost with a respectable percentage.. almost all are able to maintain a percentage of over 40%. Joo Chiat was a very close fight : WP got 48.99 while PAP got 51.01%. It was so close that WP requested for recount.

Potong Pasis was sadly lost, the fight was very close, PAP only win by 144 votes. In next election, PP SMC should be gone. So sad. High chance for PP to be absorbed into other wards, just like Cheng San GRC. Mr Chiam, i respect you for safeguarding PP for 27 years. Although Mr chiam had lost, he is still a highly respectable figure.

I noticed today the PAP winners all said that they will listen to heart of ppl and helped them. If they had done that earlier, maybe votes will not be lost.

Election 2011, close. Year 2016 New Election and New fight, i will welcome u. Hope my extremely high level of enthusiasm stil can continue in year 2016.

I had attended WP every rally in every location be it wet, dry, hot, cold, muddy. It is time worthwhile to spend where i get to listen to Singaporean rights as a citizen. Yes, WP helped me to realise what impt issues that can affect me and my next generation esp the high HDB flats and high medical costs. I am proud to say that WP win 6 seats. Heard this is the biggest seats lost for PAP. People Power are united. If underestimate and overconfident, this is what happened.

We finally have a alternative voice in Parliment. Although there are only 6 of them but this is the first step to balance the powers of ruling party. Worker's Party had choose a wise strategy this year, A Team candidates. Mr Low had not let his supporters down by winning. Workers' Party Rock.. yeah!! super happy.. Yes... Set history for Singapore.

05.05.11 - Workers' Party Rally - Alijunied GRC at Serangoon Stadium

05.05.11 (Thurs): Today is the last day of Rallies for Singapore. Tml is a new day created by ruling party called cooling day - according to the TV, there should be no rallies and no outdoor walkabout but media still can promote parties news.

Then come 7.05.11 (sat) is the big day where oridinary citizens are 'teachers' that grade the 'student's.

I took bus 72 and 103 to serangoon stadium. I reached there at 640pm but needed to sit in the middle of the field. Luckily weather was very good - mabye Tiangong had eyes, see WP so many ppl so decided to give us a dry night.

Today rally is very good, heard there are 30K of us in the stadium.

Like How Mr Low said he came to contest Alijunied GRC because LKY challenged him to do so so here Mr Low to contest. Mr Low also mentioned if in Alijunied GRC, our foreign minister is so impt, he should not be contesting in that ward. I felt that the ruling party had badly miscalculate on the power of oppposition party. Overconfident and underestimate the power of oppositin parties will lead them to failure.

At the end of the rally, we said the Singapore pledge together. So wonderful and nice feeling to say the pledge with fellow supporters.

04.05,11 - Workers' Party Rally at Open Field of Ubi Ave 3 (Aljunied GRC)

04.05.11 (Tue): We were late for today rally. By the time we took bus 25 at near 8 pm, we reached our bus at Blk 637 Enous Link. We took abt 10 min to walk the the super muddy field.

The field was super wet. Although the volunteers tried to use gaint plastic sheet to cover the field, as more and more ppl walked on the sheet, mud water start to strain the whole sheet. The crowd stream in endlessly.

By the time we walk out, our shoes and everyone else shoes were full of mud.

As we were late, we stay at a rather far end but we can still see the stage. Initally, we cannot hear the speaker voice. I cannot heard Mr Chen speech as a resulf ot the speaker volume. Then somehow WP realised those at the far end like us cannot hear the volumn, so they increased the volumn. After that, i can heard the voice clearly.

I like Mr Low and Mr singh speech today: Mr Low said Only those whom did a terrible sin need to repent and how Hougang is well maintained over his charge. Mr Singh said HDB should be more transparent on what is the cost of building HDB flats.

03.05.11 (Mon): Today i was quite early for the rally. The field was very wet. As the rally continued, the rain turned heavy. But for most of us, we stay put till the rally ended at 9.45pm.

Mr low had spoken of the statement by PAP. If the account was not done well, Mr Low will be sue and in trouble. Boos for the ununcessary accuse. I like Mr Singh words: We wanted Rojak. We wanted more colours in parliment other than the long ruling white. More Colours please.

As the rain turned heavy, some supporters had become impatient with the rally speaker. Not that he did not spoke well, he was more focused on his speech but he ended when he himself realised supporters only wanted to hear Mr Low speech first.

When Mr Low spoke, most of us cheered. As it was still raining, the impatient auntie behind me was telling me to shut my umbrella. Peiseh lah, auntie, still got rain, u said no rain and tell me i blocked ppl. haizz..

In Singapore , majority of us live in HIGHLY DANGEROUS BUILDINGS (HDB) . Most people also gotten used to PAY AND PAY (PAP) . Not only do you have to pay , you PAY UNTIL BANKRUPT (PUB) . 02.05.11 (Mon): Today rally is at Kallang Ave. At first, most of us thought the open field was at the field near ICA. But the field is in fact near Kallang MRT instead, also a short 5-10 walking distance from ICA field area. We took bus 107 there and arrived at 7.05pm. The crowd was not fully in yet so mum and I were able to stand 4-5 rows just behind the last row of seating audience. Then We somehow managed to move inward till we find a space for both of us to sit down.

Today rally covered on why ppl should vote for WP? Agreed strongly that the ruling party need to feel the presence of opposition in the parliament in order to address citizens hardship in a better position. For eg, WP was asking about the high cost of HDB flat. Finally there was talks for more CPF rebate to be given but i somehow duno and suspect this will be a long way to take place or it will never happen at all.

I am very glad to listen to Mr Chen Show Man speech today - he is a fatherly figure, i love his speeches. Mr Chen said our goal is now further and further away from us, and we had to keep drifting ourselves from the FT that keep coming in. Beside Mr Low and Ms Lim, i salute Mr Chen too.

01.05.11 - Workers' Party Rally - Nee Soon GRC At Yishun Stadium

01.05.11(Sun): Today went to Day 4 of Workers' Party Rally. We were very early today. After buying Macs for dinner, we took our dinner to the stadium. We arrived at 5.15pm. When We arrived, i went to buy my WP umbrella - a very sweet baby blue that shelter me from rain.

Love Mr Low speech - everything he said was so accurate esp the statement: 给你一只鸡腿，要你还整只鸡. Today speech focus on CPF, high medical cost. Mr Low touched on How PAP try to put WP down by asking Chen Show Man to go back to China when Mr Chen is a 100% Singaporean if WP lose the hot ward, Aljunied GRC.

Ms Lim covered on CPF and GRC. Ms Lim said our govt had revise the min amt to $150,000 you need to put in ur CPF. So if you do not have $150,000 , you can only withdraw $5000 when you are the age of 55. So that meant you cannot retire, must work and work till 67.

There is a Nee Soon GRC candidate Li Lian that said something that is very impressive: "We should have General Election every year, only when the election came on do we feel better care of". Very good statement.. strongly agree with this statement coz look at what our ruling party offer prior to the polling date: GST will not increase over the next 5 years (subject to other prices increase as mentioned by Mr Low), upgrading for this ward, lift for certain blocks... and carrots for everyone of us singaporeans.

A fb friend of mine asked if rally really fun. I answered: "Not say fun, very connected to WP at Heart". WP mentioned issues that touched on normal citizens hearts. Only the average singaporeans that earn a moderate amt of money can be connected to WP. The super rich that live in private area i feel can never feel what WP said to be true coz they had never suffer hardship for their whole lives.

Speech that touched on the hearts of the average singaporeans are also the ones that win the most audience at rally and hopefully at polling date, 7.05.11. Speech that speak for the sake of speaking without addressing or without even dare to address to the source of the reason for unhappiness will see their report cards been marked by their citiznes teachers on polling day.

30.04.11 - Workers' Party Rally - East Coast GRC At Bedok Stadium

30.04.11 (Sat): Attended Day 3 of WP rally. I am really by now 100% attached to the rally by WP. Actually had intended to go Reform party rally tml(1.5.11) at YCK stadium but at the current moment, i had decided to change my mind. Decided to go to Day 4 of WP rally at Yishun Stadium tml.

Today I am very early. I reached there at around 620 after my dinner at Bedok hawker centre. Mum went with me today. Both of us get a seat at the stairs area right at the top of the stadium seats. It is amazing to see the crowd grow to the max by near 8 pm.

Today rally touched on the two points: Our votes are secret, what type of government citizens should expect - this is covered by Ms Lim. Mr Low touched on the Drivers analogy and the unfairness opposition party were treated for similar functions. Other East Coast GRC candidates covered on the high HDB prices where ppl had to work till old old with little saving left when the time come for your CPF money to be returned back to you. THIS IS A SAD REALITY - I had a strong feel it will happen to me. So It is time to choose wisely or regret 40 years down the road.

29.04.11 - Workers' Party Rally - Alijunied GRC At Serangoon Stadium

29.04.11 (Fri): I super on.. went alone to WP rally at Serangoon Stadium. In fact, yesterday at hougang, i also alone. BUT i am super high on both days. Keep clapping my hands loud and occasionally scream "Workers' Party" and screaming answers in the air.

In most of my growing life, i had never been so passionate at politics. I think i am brain washed by the ruling party for too long. I am not sure why this election matter so much to me. I think what the opposition party had mentioned before the election had awake the sleeping mind at my heart.

Today rally touch on a different set of issues: Whether ur votes are confidential and Whether Aljunied voters should support WP or PAP. Ms Sylvia Lim and Mr Low gave a very good speech of both two issues. Alijunied GRC voters, it is time to choose wisely or regret for the rest of the 5 years.

To touch on more on how ur votes are secret, just a summary of Mr Low and Ms Lim speech. The serial number of our poll are to ensure each of us only vote once only and the number is to identity voters. At the end of the election timing, the civil servants and opposition party members will count the votes. Once the votes are counted, the box will be sealed. The parties then need to sign on the box. The box are sealed for 6 months before they are finally burned once 6 months period passed.. Your votes are secret, Do not be afraid to vote for opposition party. If WP is contesting in ur GRC, support Workers' Party.

SINGAPORE: At his party's first rally, Workers' Party (WP) secretary-general Low Thia Khiang responded on Thursday night to the driving analogy that has been used by the People's Action Party to describe the WP's role in Parliament.

Dismissing the PAP's accusation that the WP is tussling for the steering wheel, Low said that it was the "usual PAP tactic of threatening the people about the consequences of voting for the Opposition".

Said Mr Low: "Bear in mind that just putting on a safety belt and hope that the driver will drive you to your destination is not enough. A co-driver is essential, especially as road gets tougher to navigate. The co-driver is there to slap the driver when he drives off course or when he falls asleep or drives dangerously,"

The premise of Mr Low's speech, which he delivered in English, Mandarin and Teochew, was the need for more Opposition voices in Parliament to represent Singaporeans and to ensure that policies are not "bulldozed through".

He said: "Even though we are economically more advanced, we are not truly a First World country unless Singapore matures as a democracy … Unless we have checks and balances in our political system, we cannot claim to be a First World country."

Mr Low also spoke on the issue of highly-priced HDB flats and refuted National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan's statement that HDB flats are affordable and that a young couple do not need to save for a down payment and that the monthly payments are minimal.

"Even if we were to accept that this is true, he forgot to say that they will need to pay for their flat for 20 to 25 years. This means they can only start saving for their old age in their 40s and 50s, so most people have to work to their graves as they cannot afford to retire," said Mr Low.

Another of the party's candidates in Aljunied GRC, Mr Chen Show Mao, who addressed the crowd in Malay, Mandarin and English with smatterings of Tamil and Hokkien, focused on foreign workers and ministerial salaries.

Said Mr Chen: "I ask you, every year, Singapore lets in thousands of foreign workers. How much is enough? Did they ask you? The Singapore Government pays one minister hundreds of thousands (in salary) a year? How much is enough? Did they ask you?"

He also broached the issue of income disparity. Citing figures, he said that the average monthly household income per household member is S$354 last year for the bottom 10 per cent of employed households, compared to S$340 in 2008.

Said Mr Chen: "Their income has clearly failed to grow at the same pace as our GDP (Gross Domestic Product) ... It's not just for bottom 10 per cent and bottom 20 per cent, you can say the same about our median household - that's the income of half of our households over the last five, 10 years." He said the GDP growth "went to corporate profits and wage income for top earners".

"So, in this environment, is it not fair for the WP ask that prices of new HDB flats be pegged to the incomes of eligible households? Is it not fair for the WP to ask for the Workfare Income Supplement to be benchmarked against increases in cost of living? Is it not fair for the WP to ask for an unemployment insurance scheme for our unemployed workers?" he asked.

The party's chairman, Miss Sylvia Lim, took issue with the "upgrading carrots and threats".

She said: "The PAP Government controls the money that all of us taxpayers contribute to the Government in order to favour their supporters … Does Singapore belong to the PAP? By bullying people in this way is the PAP a First World Government as it claims to be?" - TODAY

28.04.11 - Normination Day was yesterday, 27.03.11. With normination day happened, it was a start of an 9 days rallies by all parties in Singapore today. 5 years ago, i went to attend WP rally at Hougang. Today, i went to the same place but with a passionate heart to support Worker Party.

It is a real pity that WP did not contested in AMK GRC unlike 5 years ago. Think WP also know they stand low chance against LSL in AMK GRC. My area opposition party is Reform Party.

But anyway, i support WP, i support Mr Low for contesting in aljunied. With Hougang being strong since Mr Low was the MP since Year 1991, Mr Low had take the risk to contest in aljunied against George Yeo. Mr Low rock, he dare to take on new challenges. His spirit is a learning role model for us - never put yourself in comfort zone, try to seek new challeges. If you never try, you never know the results.

Attending today Rally really made me high to the max. WP speeches really 一针见血, hit the nail on the head, whatsoever but what they mentioned in their rally is what had happened to us.

I had took videos of Mr Low teochew and English speech. For his last speech, i(my hands actually) am too tired to notice i had forget to hit the recording button so no chinese speech. I had used my handphone to record Mr Chan Show Man speech also but it was just a voice recording. And Mr Yaw Shin Leong(Candidate for Hougang SCM) speech that took 20 min, yup, i hold my hand in the air for 20 min.. now hand is a bit numb liao but it is worth it. Luckily Mr Low speech is in parts - First English, Second Teochow and Lastly Chinese. I had record Mr Low speech in English and teochow. I Like Mr Low Teochow speech the most. I can understand Teochow although i did not know how to speak Teochow. I also dun understand why i understand Teochow but maybe got the genes of Mum mah.

25.04.11 农历3月22日 (Mon): Today is actually a getai cum senior citizens dinner event. As this is the case, the allocation for getai area was limited. I am unable to go near the stage or nearby the stage area to get a clear view.

I took my photos using my camcorder from the shophouse in front of Blk 153. Hard to get a good shots with my camcorder but some photos are better than nothing.

BTW, today getai is kai xuan getai but i am not too sure how is it spell. I had not been to this getai before.

23/04/2011 （Sat): Today decided to go to Hougang MRT instead. Heard that Today Hougang Blk 20 is got another tai hosted by Wang Lei. The hougang one i went is a RC event. 17/04/2011 农历3月15日（Sun): Today went to AMK Blk 527 to watch getai. We were already very early, sort of, we arrived at 750pm. The crowd was maddening. Althought we came with portable chairs, we had no space to slot in the chairs. So mum decided to sit at the back near to the kopi shop while i sweat like siao among the crowd while trying to get a good watching space.

At near 840pm, i decided to pluck my courage to ask the auntie beside me if she mind me placing the chair in front of her. The auntie was really nice, she advised me to place my chair higher on another area, that will allow me to have clearer view. Indeed, the place where i placed my chair had a v clear view of the stage. Mum always teach me this: People are not scared of you being sweet-tooth but scared of u being stubborn. This is so true, while placing my chair, i keep apologising to those ppl standing for placing my chair. No one scolded me so that is a relief to me mah.

I quite enjoyed today getai, firstly got my idol, secondly the mini commedy performance the two hosts perform with zhuang qingyu were extremely funny. It is a pity that i did not get my camcorder out in time to take this nice mini comedy play.

15/04/2011 农历3月13日 (Fri): Nowadays, Tian Gong will confirm rain during the evening at 3 to 6 plus. Normally by 7 plus, the sky still look dark so it had affected my mood to go out too. BUT not today. Tian Gong is really nice to us, blessing us with good weather.

Today getai is okay onli but i had full of praises for the lighting. The stage light is really really nice. I know that because when i took my photos, i am able to capture the singers' faces very clearly. In other tais with bad light, i only managed to capture the singer whole body and the face is like blur blur one. My PnS camera is only good at good lighting with a closer distance to the stage. BUT i am still aiming for superzoom, superzoom superzoom, i will get u before 7th month arrived.

I only enjoyed the 斗歌 between qingyu, wang lei and ah nam so my only video is only this today - real sad. Quite surprised to see ah nam here as understand he is the co-host with Peifen at Blk 805 hougang today too. I arrived at 835 pm, saw the 'wear hat' bao bei and feed him some food. Getai ended at 10.30pm.

I am trying to find a watermark program for my photos. Going to do research on that.

02.04.11 农历2月28日（Sat): Today went to AMK opp B453 market. Meet Ah Leong and said a quick hi to him.. nice to meet fellow getai lovers at getai. Very nice feel. But never seen John, never see Clinda mei around, duno where were they standing or sitting.

I was reading my comments pages. If one is active in blogger, you should know you can set comments to be authorise to publish only when you allow it. I realised i got many cat lovers comments that had yet to be published. Really miss the old times when cat lovers posted sweet comments on my blog.

Not sure if i should devote this blog for my cats and open another blog for my getai? quite a hassle as i will need to redo on another new blog actually. Not sure what i wan to do, think most likely the lazy bon bon cat in me will just be more active in my cats entries in this blog as well.

I had label all my entries actually. It is a sweet memory to read my cats entries. I heart my cats... I heart getai... I heart all my readers whom forgive me for my sometimes full of errors entries and inform me...

23/03/2011 农历2月19日 (Wed): Went to Az building to watch idol host. Was very high today as can watched good performance and excellent hosting by idol. There is a small incident - apparently the temple committee just wanted singing and low level of talking. So Poor idol was 'washed' by someone, not sure whether that angry bird is from the temple. Rather unfair to shout at host just because someone wanted their way of doing things, should have inform the organiser of the getai in advance mah so that the host will know what to do. According to HH, the band need time to prepare the next song so in order to keep the show going, HH had to talk longer. Some ppl just do not understand what do getai meant...

Today performance was excellent esp towards the ending althought the ending performance was performed to the committee rather than to the audience. But it was high HIGH, High.. i was very high too but had to go home before it ended. I reached the place at 830 and left the place at 1040pm. The whole performance ended at 11pm. No choice as need to work the next morning so i cannot stay too late.

Today crowd is quite strong but not as many as yesterday. I am able to see a good view but i had to stand till 930pm.

There are 3 important news for getais fans: (Hope i do not get any details wrongly, please inform me if i do make error, my apologises)

1) A performance hosted by Qi Xuan at Grassroot club Near YCK station, the date is on 7-4-11. Special guest are Zhu Li Li and Hao Hao. Ticket is $18
2) On 1-5-11, there is a Labour Day performance at kreta ayer people's theatre. Host is Hao Hao.I think the lowest ticket price is $28.
3) There is a 精义charity show at kreta ayer people's theatre on 16-4-11. This was already announced before in other tais but it was reannounced today for audience.

22.03.11 农历2月18日（Tue): Was kinda lazy these few days. Lorong Ah Soo and AMK getais both i had gave them a miss. Thought of not going today but from my kitchen window, can hear the lovely music, Cannot tahan the joy of listening and seeing live concert, so i decided to go.

Heard that today is the only getai performance in Singapore. So was glad to get my portable chair. As i am in the last two row, my photos are very very lousy. I had already make plan to invest in a super zoom camera, most likely will get it at the next IT show in June. After hearing expert advise in HWZ, decided to choose fuji or canon.

Today performance is not too bad. I arrived at 8.15 and the getai ended at 1030 but i left after 谢金石 appeared. I had no longer appreciate his songs so decided to leave early. Mum was sleepyhead so i had watched today getai alone with nice nice aunties and uncles around me.. hehehhe

Xu Qiong Fang - if you had watched Channel U 拍。卖, she act as the mum of Jessica Liu. Think Qiong Fang is very happy with this role as she suddendly have a daughter that she dreamed of

12.03.11 农历2月8日 (Sat): Today getai crowd is in full house. When i arrived, i tried to grab 1 chair but an uncle said the chairs are tied. So no choice, i returned home to take my portable chair. I only arrived at 815pm. From what i know, i missed Qi Qi, Tian Yue and Shi Ling.

Actually i can hear shi ling voice when i was walking towards the getai area so i kinda listen to her songs. Today getai ended at 10 pm. Today is an okay only getai performance as well. But Bao En teacher, Su An Qi (Suddenly forgot her name, so very sorry if i get her name wrongly).

The performance is very good. A bit pity that she only sing 3 songs. As this is the first time i watched her performance, her name still does not leave a impression on my mind yet.

Jennifer say: 10.03.11 农历2月6日 (Thur): Today went to B153 at my side. Today performance i feel is an ok only getai. Not sure why but maybe too much time were spent on selling hongbaos mah. I arrived right in time so i had not missed any singers today. Getai banner Zhu Li Li Wang Xin Mei Xiao Ting Zhen Long Sun Qiang - Pei Fen told us a good joke that is true actually today. She and Sun Qiang Plus some other getai singers took 2 cars to Malaysia. Sun Qiang car was travelling in front and Pei Fen car behind. It was already very dark. Suddenly in the dark, they(Pei Fen car) saw someone keep waving to them. Thinking that the person may be a robber, all the girls in the car urge the driver to drive faster past the person. So they drove faster than usual. As they passed by, they received a phone call fron Sun Qiang. Aiyo that person in the dark is Sun Qiang, waving to them to stop the car as they need the light to change car tyres. 17.02.11 农历1月15日 (Thur): How times flies. Today is already the last day of CNY. It is Yuan Xiao Jie Cum 东方情人节. Quite a good day today.

13.02.11 (Sun): I dun like today story, too tragic to be showed on CNY Day 11. Xiu Qin Opera Troupe casted good comedy performance but for Tragic, it was really sad, dun like tragic performance. It was really a drag after 10 pm. Almost zzzz after watching the trial performance. was constantly checking on phone rather than watch. The meetup before the death sentence even more lor soh...zzzz....On a positive note, Zhuang Jin Mei, the Hua Dan was a really good actress.
