05/11/2009 （Thur) 农历9月19日: Today we went to Hougang Dou Mu Gong again. I believe this will be the last getai of the year in this temple till next year. I met my facebook friend, Mei ling for the first time, took me a while to locate her but nevertheless, it is nice to meet her though we did not manage to talk.

Today host, 奇贤 and Ru ping combination are funny esp 奇贤. I find him very much like someone that i know but is not very familiar with, 'V'. 'V' is also like 奇贤 - luv to joke a lot, u will either appreciate his joke or think his jokes are all rubbish.

Today singers are 朱丽丽, 方芳, 蓝小玲, 梨川, 麦卉, 浒琼芳, 关雪儿. Today singers are totally different from yesterday singers so it is quite refreshing to see new group of singers on stage. First time heard 梨川 sing, mum told me that she used to buy her those Black disc songs. It's good to go getai with mum as she will inform me of those older singers abt their background. Like yesterday Ziling, mum told me ziling's style is more or less the same but in the past, she used to have longer hair comb to the side. 梨川 singing is not bad since i liked songs in the 1970s also. Althought 梨川 is already in her 60, her singing is still very clear and strong. I had taken videos of her two songs, will upload soon.

04/11/2009 （Wed)农历9月18日: Today we went to 后港斗母宫. Today event is in celeberation of Guan Yin Birthday that falls on the 19 date of the 9th Lunar month . There are two hosts today, Lin Ru Ping and Wang Lei. Wang Lei did not sing any songs today i believe as i only reached the area at 7.50 pm where 2z sisters are already singing.Nevertheless, Wang Lei is extremely funny as usual, i enjoy his hosting very much too. Lin Ru Ping is the more 'serious' type of host that never made fun of anyone be it audience or singer, i like how she usually advise others not to make fun of ppl.

Today singers are 紫凌, 鲜红, 2Z 姐妹, 百美惠(From Hongkong), 林凯莉, 林晓婷, 陈天送, 黄清元, 李宝恩. I got all this chinese names from Stomp Singapore.


Today getai is very good, really enjoy the songs by the singers. First time heard Bai Mei Hui from Hongkong sing - first Cantonese song, second is hokkien song, third is chinese song. I had taken video of her second and third song that i will upload when i had time. Bai Mei hui also had a glamorous costume like Kaili. 林晓婷 had cut her fringe that i thought she looked very nice than longer fringe. Heard Lin xiaoting just came back from Thailand. Wang Lei had gave Lee Bao En an $10 hongbao when Lee sang a song at Wang's special request. It is quite a joy to see Wang Lei host actually as his entertainment level is very high.


Today getai is 喜敬 by 三清宫. This temple is at Bedok Industrial Park E and in related to 韭菜芭城隍廟. I know this temple very well as my deceased grandmum was in this temple also.

2/11/2009: Today We went to Ang Mo Kio In front of Blk 626 to watch getai. Initally i though that the location was at Hougang, luckily dad bought a Sin Ming newspaper and managed to inform us the correct location. It was quite easy to get Ang Mo Kio as i had direct bus 76 to AMK area. Dad had went early to help mum and I 'chop' seats. The area was in a open carpark with no tentage, so it is god blessing that it never rain at all. The 大二爷伯 were also at the getai watching the performance. We are lucky to get two sweets that the 大二爷伯 thrown to the audience.

I got a good seat of the stage area. Today getai is for 'Shan Qing Tang' in celebration of immoral birthday. Today host is mum favourite :600. Today singers are 林凯莉(first singer that i did not get to see her perform ), 陈凯晴,刘心玲, 林茹萍, 林姿逸, 李佩芬, 何佩霖, 朱丽丽, 陈天送, 俊龙.

I am really impressed when 600 spend at most 15 min singing 'ten court of hell' song. Although 600 was singing from her songbook, it took lot of effort to sing non-stop for 15 min without any break in-between, no wonder 600 is getai No. 1 Ah-Jie. As the 大二爷伯 requested this song, 600 had to finish the completed version. Heard that the 'ten court of hell' song is to remind us to do good deed.

By the time 600 finished her song, it was around close to 1050 so 600 asked the last two singers, Lee Pei Fen and Ho Pei ling to come out together. 何佩霖 had sing 阴府咒 while Lee Pei Fen sing one oldies song. Jun Long had sing 倒退噜（西公歌）as request by the temple committee. Heard 600 mentioned that Jun Long had taught 600 how to sing this song. Jun Long version is very good, he's also one of my now new-found best favourite singer. Liu Ling Ling had sing 我问天 with her sister, Liu Xin Ling. Toward the end of the show, 600, 陈天送, Lee Pei fen and Ho Peiling sing some songs together. I liked their 'mu qing' - Mother but they changed the lyrics to 'father and mother'. 600 reminded us to must take good care of our parents.
