Today Singapore Troupe invited Taiwan Xiao Sheng, Chen Yue Yun and Chen Qiu Mei 小生陳月雲 小旦穌恩嬅 for this last 9 days performance at Cheng Huang Temple. I enjoy today performance very much, very funny and entertaining. The xiao sheng is esp charming in her own way both as a male and as a female character.

The story:
The Chow Family were very wealthy. Now Chow got two sons - Eldest son was not born by Chow as he was only a foster son. Second Son, Feng was the only heir to Chow fortune.
As this is the case, Elder Son had wish that the Young brother will died so that he can take over the family fortune. Second son met a lady named Lin Di. This Lin Di was a very materialism woman whom only loved mony but the Lin family were very poor. Second Son, Feng met Di on the street where they tried to fight over a bun. In the end, Feng bought the bun for Di. In order to become rich, Di dad married Di to the chow for 500 liang.
Di, the greedy yet kind hearted lady - The actress 穌恩嬅 is from Taiwan.
Feng The Chow master at the street with his first meeting with Di. The one wearing red is Taiwan Xian Sheng, Tan Yue Yun. I quite liked this xiao sheng from Taiwan although this is the first time i watching her performance
On the day of the big day, Feng offended some street people and were beaten on the head till he fainted on the street. His servant had to carry Feng home. When Feng woke up, he had become insane but were still pushed into his weddling room. When Di realised Feng was insane, she tried to leave. However Feng stopped her and Di pushed him to the floor where he fainted. Just then, the evil eldest son appeared and threaten to report Di to the officer unless Di killed Feng. Just when Di was about to do so, Feng Mum appeared. Upon seeing Feng on the floor, his mum thought that Feng had died and received such a heavy blow that she too died. Di fled. Eldest son then throw Feng onto the wild.

Di was surprised to meet Feng again
Meanwhile Di found a new lover whom promised to marry her. In the hill, Di saw Feng and saved him. When Feng woke up, Di regreted saving him and tried to ask him to leave. Feng then followed Di home. At the house, Feng was knocked again at his head by Di dad. Di then asked her dad to stab Feng. But in the end, Feng grabbed the weapons and tried to chase them. Di dad then decided to abandone Feng in the street. However, this attempt was not sucessful as Feng was able follow Di dad everywhere. Out of exhaustion from running away, Di dad fainted. In the end, Feng carried Di dad home. When the dad woke up, he was very glad that Feng had managed to carry him home and told Di to allow Feng to stay in the house.
Di and her dad decided to sell clothes for a living. A foreign princess appeared and wanted to buy clothes. Di dad argreed to allow the princess to have her clothes in 3 days. On the third day, Di asked Feng to be a model wearing female clothing for the princess to view. The princess agreed to buy the clothes. As Di and her dad were not good at sewing, they decided to let Feng stay with the princess.

Hmm.. thinking back, i still prefer this xiao sheng to be a male character. Somehow her look is funny.
Second set of clothing to model
All the audience were looking forward for the xiao sheng to reappear in woman clothing. A lot of laughter could be heard when the xiao sheng appear as female.
However when the princess wanted to take Feng away, Feng and Di cannot bear to leave each other and Feng refused. Feng and Di declared their love for each other. Just then, Feng servant managed to find Feng and informed him that the eldest son had wanted to kill him to take the family fortune. Di dad asked Feng to return to chow to fight for his family fortune. Di taught Feng how to behave like a normal rich man.
At chow house, Eldest son had already plotted to ask his elderly uncle to make arrangement to pass the family fortune to him. Fortunately, Feng arrived. However, eldest son asked his men to beat Feng. Feng was knocked on the head. This knock make Feng sane again. He revealed His elder brother plot to their uncle. When elder son tried to run off, he was knocked on his head which make him suffer the same fate as Feng - insane. Di when realised Feng was sane again left chow house quietly.
The evil second Chow master tried to ask his elder uncle to transfer the family fortuen to him. The Xian sheng wearing purple clothing is the lady boss, Xiao Jinki.

Feng asked Di if she had truly love him
Feng chased Di and declared his love for her. They decided to get marry. Happy ending.... :)
