Mimi is now a offical "gonggong" & Lessons learnt from feeding cats
Linda, sister and I trapped mimi on Wed,26 July. Actually sister and I did not do anything, we only asked mimi to follow us and feed him. At first,we tried to put the food inside the carrier. But smart mimi refused to come close, he even gave a meow of protest. After some try, linda said to put the food on the floor and asked me to catch him..i am terrified of scratches after the first experience as mimi is really wild when i last caught him.
so i told linda that i will not touch mimi. As i placed the food on the floor, mimi finally came to eat the food. Linda then grabbed mimi from behind and forced him into the carrier. Poor mimi, he was vvv angry and kept making angry meow. Linda took him to the malay family whom would send mimi down to sterilization on thur, 27 july.
Linda said mimi got a bloody nose as he tried to bump on the wall of his carrier. We saw mimi yesterday, he did have a 'black' nose, other than that, he appear to be well and that is good..at least mimi is now a official gonggong and hopefully, he will not be captured by anyone..i always say that mimi's two black patches on his body looked like 'tian yan' (heaven's eyes) and this two eyes are meant to protect him and his other friends in the wild from 'evil humans'.
Hmm..linda told me the town council called her that two girls were feeding strays in our area..if u gusss correctly, ya, the two girls are sister and me. asked linda what was the reason for complaints. Linda said that that was not a complaint. The officer wanted to ensure that we feed 'secretly' so that there will not be any complaints.
It make me feel gross that ppl actually called town council to say things that "i saw two girls feeding cats"... so yucky when i think of why they ever make such a senseless call..can't they think of better things to do...Anyway, i felt that it is not really safe to feed them in our area but i had no choice since i had 'fall in love' with them. I will try to changing my feeding place and time often so that we will not be easily spotted by bird-brain people. Mum said that if i do not feed, linda will feed..i replied that if linda did not feed ler, then they will be hungry. Now i understans why some people feed at odd hours like 3 am..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The lessons learnt from feeding cats:
1) Always change your location to feed them
2) Always change your time to feed them
3) If possible, appear at odd hours like after midnight
4) Try to feed with family members - one will be the 'eye' to see if anyone is spying on cat feeder while the other is fussing with the cats
5) Pick up every litter -grains of rice that you feed them - evidence gone
6) Stare back at those kapos that keep staring at you like you are an alien. Normally, people will pretend that they did not stare by looking other places. The Abnormal will still stare actually.
7) Maintain low profile - feed at the darkest corner that you can find - dun worry abt the "seven month" as cats can sense what is natural or unnatural
8) Avoid the dog owners - i had a feeling that maybe some people whom complained may be the dog owners as i sometimes meet them while feeding the cats. If you cannot avoid, do a detour.
9) Ensure that you do not feed two cats that will fight with each other at the same place. - For me, i will feed san pi pa first, then ran off to find mimi. Nowaday, i no longer find baby, ring ring or xiaobai as they do not appear at the same place as mimi and ginger. And further, baby will follow us to mimi's area. Then baby will chase mimi and san pipa will chase baby. In this case, their loud meow might disturb the residents and lead to some complaints.
10) Avoid leading your cats into people's path - there was once when i used to feed xiaobai and friends in the park..i do not actually lead them but they sort of follow me after i fed them. I remembered xiaobai, baby and ring ring followed me. There was two women - one commented that those cats should be send to SPCA. I am really pissed to hear that. Mimi is really smart, normally he will cleverly avoid the people walking on the pavement. If we did see people nearby, we will stopped for one min, the cats will also stopped and waited. Once the coast is clear, we will then go on.

New toy for my cats
I am surprised sister do not know that catnip will make cats go "crazy" for around 10 minutes. It is not threatening to their health but somehow most adult cats except kittens will go crazy when they smell catnip. I wonder if we can buy to grow catnip. Most of our plants do not grow well in our corridor, our poor aleo vera plant looked like it is dying.. and i had though of plucking the poor leaves for my face but after looking at how thin the plant is, i decided to leave it alone..

I love this nice song by Angela Zhang shao han
Yi Ge Xiang Xia Tian Yi Ge Xiang Qiu Tian
This is a song about friendship. It tell the story of two friends whom do not like each other at first sight as one is like Autumn while the other is like Summer. Their friendship developed where they turned their Winner relationship into a Spring relationship.
It told the story that love is not everything that matter, friendship is equally important - How friends stay by you when you need them, how they always encourage you, be with you in your proudest moment, how they will listen to your every words.

At the dogs' shelter, the poor dog have to bear with noise and air pollution. If i ever go back to SPCA next month, i WILL not visit the cat shelter again, if i do not see the same cats in their cages, i will feel sad and wonder where they are.

Do your cats get locked up?
I was reading fostercat blog where she posted the following questions:
1. Do you lock them up in a room when you're at work and there's nobody at home?
2. Do you keep them in a separate room at night when you're sleeping?
3. Are your cats ok with the arrangement?
4. Do your cats meow or make noise at night when everyone's asleep?
This sounds interesting.
I am currently keeping two of younger cats (KK and Or-Di-Du)in seperate cage/basket. We had decided to rename bon bon Or Di Du (Black spider) or Or Du Du (Black)
The two bigger ones(Sweetie and DD) are well-trained to learned not to:
a) Trying to jump on tables
b) Know where to poo / pee
c) where to sleep when they are tired
d) Not to jump on mum's bed
e) Not to sit on the bigger sofa
f) Not to jump on the dinning table
g) Not to attempt to grab our dinner down the floor
h) Not to run vvv fast when we want to take them for lockup in bedroom
The two younger ones are more playful, so far they had not learn any of their older sisters' tricks. They
a) Jump on sister and brother's lap while they are having dinner
b) run here and run there when their koala is missing
c) no sense of direction, keep running and bumping into things
d) not so toilet trained- still poo or pee inside their basket if we do not respond fast enough to their meows(maybe it is because they are locked up)
e) will eat anything they found on the floor
g) do not allow us to catch them unless we used the food tempation
h) Keeping jumping on mum's bed
Ok, now to answer foster cat questions:
1) Do you lock them up in a room when you're at work and there's nobody at home?
Ansewr: Sweetie and DD are locked in my room or mum's room when nobody is at home. KK and Oi Du Du are keep in their individual basket/ cage.
2) Do you keep them in a separate room at night when you're sleeping?
Answer: Sweetie sleep beside me on my bed. DD sleep on sister's chair in my bedroom. KK sleep in his cage in the living room- we bought a large cage for him one week ago. Oi du du sleep in the basket in my bedroom.
3) Are your cats ok with the arrangement?
Answer: Sweetie has been sleeping with me since she first become our home cat one year ago. She choose to sleep on my bed. As for DD, she choose to sleep on sister's chair herself. I believed if they can speak, they will say they are happy with this arrangement. I cannot said the same for KK and Oi Du Du as i am the one whom arranged their sleeping area. Somehow, they got endless energy.
Oi Du Du can go running after her koala bear for two hours without feeling tired or wanting to rest, so we need to catch her and pop her inside her basket to rest. KK is like a loose cannon - without anyone keeping an eye on him, he will keep running and running without knowing what he want to do and he bump into chairs. He will also chased DD around the house, i think KK is 'interested' in DD but we are sending KK for sterilization at the end of the month.
4) Do your cats meow or make noise at night when everyone's asleep?
Answer: Sweetie sleep like a log at night. DD will meow for people to open the bedroom door whenever she see light outside the living room. It is the latest bad habit of DD to keep meowing when someone switched on the living room's light. DD will then meow for food.
Once during the World Cup fever, DD saw the living room's light where Dad and brother were watching soccer, DD meowed to come out. When she was out, she meowed for food. After food, she meowed for someone to take her to pee and poo at 3 am plus in the morning. Mum said DD though that it is 6.30 am since there was light in the living room. Normally mum will woke up at 6.30 am where DD will started her daily meows. I am already 'immune' to her meows, I can keep sleeping till 7 plus when Oi Du Du make the next morning call. It is not like we do not feed enought, but after DD's sterilization, she seems to grow a fond for food. Her favourite 'target' to beg for food are brother and sister. But if no one is outside the living room, she will also sleep with her ears open.
KK and Oi Du Du are sound sleepers, no meows, no disturbance untill the next day - 7 am plus where we released them for their toilets, meals and play. We also allowed them to play at night.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We cannot afford to have a spare bedroom like fostercat for the cats to live since our flat is already full of stuffs - 5 humans with 3 bedrooms, many junks from the three of us (Me, sister and brother). Once the shopowner in Chinatown told me that he knew this young couple whom stay in a 3 room flat and had a room for their 7 cats. The young couple adopted 2 kittens from the chinatown uncle making them had 7 cats. Chinatown mkt is closed, i will missed the chinatown uncle's cat till he reopen his shop two years later. The uncle told me that his cat always walked with him to his shop and then she will sleep inside his shop-- so smart cat and so lucky to found a nice uncle as her owner.
Normally our cats are not always been home alone, there are always either my mum or sister at home. The afternoons are most peaceful when all cats are sleeping so i felt that it is ok to lock them esp if you are not at home since they normally sleep in the afternoon.

Lesson from a cat - from Kaka
See No evil - Look not at what is contrary to propriety
If only people will learn how to adapt us-cats in their environment, and learn to appreciate our beauty - our fur, our big eyes, our prize tail.Is it our fault that we do not have a home?
Hear no evil - listen not to what is contrary to propriety
If only we can let people hear how we feel when they abandoned us. Most pobably we will say:" Hope u will have a "better" afterlife where you will be our dinner -rats"
Speak no evil - speak not what is contrary to propriety
If only people can stop themselves from making unnecessary complaints to the Town Council to catch us away. Do they feel happy when a cat is put to sleep? Do they feel happy when they told a lie (like what Tiffy's owner told abt tiffy being a stray that stay in his corridor-the result for speaking a lie:Poor tiffy was put to sleep)? Do they feel happy REALLY? What is real happiness in their mind- to speak what they feel like speaking without any guilt?
