27/11/2009—— Today we went to Hougang Blk 805 Next to Hougang Plaza to watch getai. Heard dad said that the getai started at 7 pm so when mum and I arrived at the area at 8 pm, we had missed like 4 singers at least. Nevertheless as like every getai performance that i had watched, it is an highly entertaining one with lot of songs and dancing.
Today singers (based on my timing from 8 pm onwards) are Xiaoxing, Zhu Li Li, Wang Wei Liang, Mai Hui, Sun Quan, Tan Kai Qing and Lee Bao En. Alex from the band 飞航 had sing one song, he had an excellent vocal, not too bad. Wei Liang as peifen mentioned is a relatively new singer, only 22 this year, he is quite shy still at the stage.
As today i am sat right near the rear of the audience chairs, my photos are vv tiny. Kai Qing and Pei fen had went down the stage to help sell temple hongbaos. My favourite 'singer' today is Alex from the band, it is cool to hear someone playing the guitar and singing song at the same time, i enjoy this type of performance very much.
