12/10/2009 (Mon) 农历8月24日: - Today, dad, mum and I went to our neighbourhood temple(opposite Blk 547 serangoon north) to view Getai. Our Serangoon North temple always have annual Getai at Lunar 6 month of 24.

Today host is 许琼芳. We arrived at the temple at around 7.20pm. So get to hear getai performance from 730pm to 1050pm. Today singers are 林诗玲, 庄清玉, 李佩芬, 王雷, 蓝小玲(Last singer), 吴佩芝, 麦卉 -潮州西施(but never sing teochew songs today). The live band rock the stage - 威乐斯. The organiser had helped to put lights on the front of the stage to prevent singers from acidentally fall down from the stage. It is very thoughtful of the organiser as i read that a number of singer had fall down from the stage that can be quite dark when the lights are off.

We are able to get a good seat with clear view today so I am able to get quite clear shot with my camera. But almost till the end where Wang Lei appeared, my battery ran low so did not get much shots of the last two singers - Lee Bao En and Lan Xiao ling. Heard that Lee Bao En's mum was robbed at JB yesterday - so dangerous nowaday in JB.

Wang Lei was slapped by the host Xu Qiong Fang a few times - poor thing, first time saw Wang Lei got 'bully' on stage but i think Wang Lei showed a great deal of respect for Xu Qiong Fang as other for a few words to 'wash the host', the atmosphere is quite calm. Did agreed with Wang Lei that nowaday Xu Qiong fang has a better dress code, her dress is quite fastionable. Heard that Xu will 'retire' once her children completed their 'U' degree that is around 4 years time from this year. Will miss Qiong Fang if that time arrives....

It is quite enjoyable esp to hear Lee Pei Fen and Chuan Qingyu sang 'No 3 mummy'. I find that 'No 3 mummy' is the hightlight of every getai performance, not only the song (written by 600) is nice, it connected well with the audience. Mum also find it entertaining as she did not fall asleep during the getai performance. My favourite song of the day is 走在铁路旁 (The link to the song is sing by 蔡幸娟 ) sing by 陈晓欣.

麦卉 with her lovely songs. I quite like her singing v much. If you do noticed carefully, there are lighting near the front of the stage to prevent singers from accidentally overstep and drop off the stage

Chloe 林诗玲 in her very hip hop dressing. First time saw Chloe dress this way, quite refreshing to the common glittery dressing
