Just finished watching 原來愛上賊 two days ago. After finishing the show, i am totally in love with Damian Liu acting. Althought this is not the first time i had watched his drama, this time around, his acting totally rocks. I enjoyed his acting very much.

Damian Liu is a true 影帝. His facial expression is very cute in this drama and his acting rocks. This is a must watch drama if anyone support Damian Liu.

For this drama 原來愛上賊, this is an TVB 2008 production. I should have invest time to watch this great show. In 'great' defination, i liked the drama but dislike the stupid ending. There are two ending actually - the first is sad ending where Jack Ko (Liu Song ren) was killed. The Jack 不死传说 version where Jack was not killed but jailed can only be watched online but Jack eventually reunited with Rong Rong (casted by Chen Yu Lian, Idy Chan) after he was released from jail.

Main characters in this drama

A) Liu Song Ren as Jack Guo. He is the mastermind of robbery. His aim is to punish the bad and help the poor. In simple term, he is Modern day robin hood.
He had 4 other people to help him in his every move.
1) Keyman - a guy trained in unlocking locks
2) BT (ben tham) - Jack cousin - a genius computer hacker
3) Han Ming xiang or Long Leg Crab - a professional shooter
4) Jiao Jiao - A professional driver

With their help, they mastermind many robbery. Jack then get to know a divorcee called Rong Rong. They eventually married. Depend on what ending you are watching, they ended up together or seperated by death. Somehow, I do not like their love story.. very dragging and not refreshing at all.

I liked Jack. He is the reason why i enjoy watching this show a lot a lot....He is cool, he mastermind with great Intelligence and because he had the mindset of a cop, he usually predict correctly what Joe ma was about to do.


B) Joe Ma as Jiang Yang. Jiang yang is the head of the investigation department for serious crimess. Jiang Yang discovered Jack Guo was the mastermind of the robbery in ep 3. All along, Jiang Yang had thought Jack was the one whom killed his teacher. Then he found that his teacher was also part of the robbery gang as his teacher tried to frame a bad guy but was counter-framed instead. Jiang Yang discovered that Jack is actually a good guy. I do not like Jiang Yang. He is clever but cannot oversmart Jack. His poor relationship with his wife is what turn me off. There is this part where his wife tried to call him, he acted busy. Totally not a good husband at all. Many of the times, he cannot control his emotion at all.

C) Chen Yu Lian as Bao Rong Rong. She fall in love with Jack. Like Jiang Qiao, i do not really like or hate her. But i dun like what she is always telling to Jack "As a housewife or Auntie, we also can do this do that"...I wish she can stop saying that she is an housewife or auntie coz it get very irritating when you keep hearing her say the same words a few times in this whole drama. She eventually marry Jack.

D) Chan Fa La as Minnie. She is the wife of Jiang Yang. Heard that This is Chen Fa La first drama. I dislike dislike her role. Esp the ending where she pretend to be with baby to try to stop Jiang Yang from stopping Jack from committing crimes. But when she found she is pregnant, She called Jiang Yang to come immediately. Jiang Yang had found about the lie and when Minnie told her husband she is confirmed pregnant, jiang yang do not believed her. She tried to grab Jiang Yang.

I hated the grabbing part. Stupid woman - pregnant still trying to do stupid action.And the doc warned her to be careful.. Never use brain is it? - what!!! trying to grab husband and kena pushed against the object then stomach pain and cry that she is going to loss her baby. Who ask u to be so Kay Kiang - never heard of 狼来了 story is it? totally cannot stand her...

A cob duty is to protect and prevent crimes. Being the wife of a cop, i thought she is already used to the dangerous job her husband need to carry out.
And this stupid woman trusted her boss, Zhou Jun Hao (casted by evergreen Mak) even when Her husband warned her that Zhou Jun Hao was a bad egg.

E) jackson Lee as Ben Tham. I liked his role here esp his true love for Jiang Qiao. But sadly, he died at ep 19 for a very stupid reason. While trying to escape from the plot set by the evil Zhou Jun Hao, he was shot twice and eventually died in hospital after seeing Jiang Qiao for one last time. I find his death a bit unexpected and not supposed to have taken place at all. He had intended to give up committing any crimes but he decided to help Jack teach the bad guys some lesson for one final round. When you decided to give up, why must suddenly decided to have one more time ler? something strange about this part.

F) Chen Man Chi as Jiang Qiao. Not very good impression of her role but I liked her as a good actress. Her acting is not bad actually. For her role, i do not really like nor hate. She is working in the security firm and in the end, she give up her job to focus on the anti-virus program developed by BT before he died. The software had a nice name called 彬翘软件。 I think the name is so sweet. But towards the end, Jiang Qiao never accepted BT love til the moment when he died. I find her role to be weak actually as there is not much development on the relationship of her and Ben. The drama did not really focus on whether Qiao accepted Ben's love esp after Ben identiy as a thief was found.

Of course, at Ben deathbed, Qiao then accpted the love but it was too late. The part after Ben identity was found and how Ben tried to win back Qiao was very very weak, not much storyline. It is just 'I hate u for being a thief', 'I hate u for telling me lies' and 'I hate u for making use of me'.


G) Evergreen Mak as Zhou Jun Hao. He is the bad egg here. But without him, there will not nothing to watch. He is good. I meant watching him make me wanted to slap his fat face for being so evil. I find that he still have a nice heart. When Minnie was drunk, He accompany her to the hotel. He left without doing anything to her - this show that he still have some good heart. And he is really good to his father. He died eventually.

The Two ending

Sad Ending: The sad ending will be showed at Channal U also and also on the VCDs. Jack died eventually from gunshots by a unknown policeman. This part is very stupid. Suddenly there is this unknown policeman that appeared and shot Jack. And the policeman was not from 飞虎队 but only a common policeman. So pissed off seeing this part.Got gunshot sure confirmed will have 飞虎队, suddenly there is this 猫猫队 that shot at Jack and then trembled in fear. Stupid ending... and the worst part is the ending is not convincing. Even when Zhou's father was shot too, he survived while Jack died. I wished the producers can think think think before they showed such lousy ending. A guy that is in the mid age and A guy with heart illness - both are shot but the weak heart guy live... very very feel like boxing the producers ears...

Happy ending: You can only find the ending online. I watched mine from tudou.com. Jack was not shot but was arrested. He was jailed. The story then fast forward to show everything exactly the same as the sad ending part. I think Jack was jailed for 1 year. This is the only difference between the two ending that i liked, Jack was released from jail and reunited with Rong Rong.

帝女花 Perish in the Name of Love

I had just finished watching all 32 eps of TVB drama, Perish in the Name of love. Of course, it is a tradegy drama, all dramas involving wars are tragedy - Like 'War and Beauty' 'Where the legend begins'. I find this 2003 production to be long-winded esp the plots where the evil kept on doing evil over and over again till the final esp.

Here is the casts in this drama:

Charmaine Sheh as Princess Chang Ping 长平公主（佘诗曼） & Steven Ma as Zhou Shi Xian 周世显（马浚伟）
I love Stevan ma's character the most. He is very charming in this drama. He and the princess were seperated 6 times before they can finally be together. Meanwhile, he was alway fighting a lose battle against the Qing army. I find it strange that all the other generals died while fighting and Zhou (being inexperienced with war) can still 'tahan' for so long. But if Zhou died, the princess would be a widow, then got no more show to watch.

Princess ChangPing was a understandable and loyal princess. Despite being mistaken for many instances, she was able to overcome those obstacles. She was made a begger, a worker in a factory and finally a nun. In the end when Zhou went to the temple to find her, they were finally together, ending their 6-time seperation.

The final esp showed how they faked death and ended up as normal citizens. I think the real Princess Changping remained as a nun in her whole life. I am rather interested in the Real Ming dynasty Chang Ping life story so i did a search. I found that the real princess married Zhou Xing(should be Zhou Shi Xian other name) but died at the age of 39 from an illness.(The link is all written in Chinese). So much for a fairytale ending in the TVB drama. I think the title of the drama should also changed as both lovers did not actually perish in the name of love. Maybe should called "Lovefool in the name of Love".

Chen Yuan Yuan in this drama was a useless character. She did nothing to cause Ming dynasty to fall. In real history, Ming fall because of Chen Yuan Yuan. It was said that both Wu San gui and the enemy, Lee Zhi Cheng fall in love with the same girl, yuan yuan. Because of this, Wu joined force with the Manchu(Qing), opening the gate of the Ming's city, thus allowing the Ming to fall into the Qing soldiers' hand.

Princess Zhao Ren was a evil woman that plot against her own father, indirectly leading to the fall of Ming. I am not sure of the real Princess's history but most certainly, Ming did not fall because of her. In fact, little was known about Princes Zhao Ren. Princess Chang Ping being the only surviving Ming princess in the Qing ruling was more 'famous'.

But in this drama, Zhao Ren was totally evil - killed her own mother, tried to make her own brother-in-law (Zhou shi xian) like her by lies, took money meant to help in the war, tried to sell information to the Qing. But in the end, she was the last person to die or rather had what she deserve. In the final esp, she was in prison, looking like an insane woman. She was mainly in this drama to add more highlight to the stupidness of her grandmother, mother and sister. Despite the many lies she told, no one comforted her. Even if her lies were discovered, she was able to outsmart them by more lies esp to her mother that eventually died because of her.


Wen SongXian(Annie Man) as Yu xian
I also love her character. She is sweet, caring and thoughful. In one esp where Changping fall down, yu xian helped her to apply medicine despite knowing her for less than one day. Yu xian was supposed to marry Zhou Shi Xian. I do not like their love triangle.... Yu Xian loved Shi Xian but Shi xian loved Chang ping... Chang ping did not accepted Zhou's love as she was good friends with Yu Xian. Love meant Love, why must push her love to her good friend? In the end yu xian also died because she wanted to help changping stole a letter that revealed the plot of the evil concubine,Tian Fei that tried to frame the Empress Chow for the death of Tian Fei's son. Tian Fei accidentally pushed Yu Xian whom knocked her head against the stair and died.

Some of my less favourite characters:

Moses Chan as Emperor Chong Zhen
Chong zhen was a mad man right from the start of the drama. As in every emperor, he had the same weakness like having too many concubines, listening to the word of his favourite concubine, Tian Fei, listen to the words of his useless officers and lack of trust for his most loyal officers. In the drama, he told his family to flee from the palace and spread news that he had killed his officers in the palace, kill his own daughter, Chang ping and asked his family to die. In real life, he was said to lose his mind and kill his officers and family members. He had also hacked one arm of Princess Chang Ping. In the end, he died by hanging on a tree.He was the 17th and last emperor of the Ming dynasty.

Michael Tong as Seng Chin
He loved Chang ping but Chang ping only loved Zhou shi xian. Despite this, Seng chin done many things for Chang ping. I find his character to be a bit stupid. I cannot understand why he spend so much time with Chang ping that had no love for him. He also appeared to done harsh things, wasted his family's fortune and hot-tempered. That is why i do not like his character right from the start. If only he can showed his devote for love to his own father.

Marco Ngai as Wu San gui
He was the general that knew a lot abot war strategy. Because of Chen Yuan Yuan, Wu san gui fall out with Chong Zhen and refused to help him. Ming fall because of him. Nothing much to say about this guy.

Maggie Siu as Empress Chow
She was the strength pillar for Chong zhen. Unfortunately, she was unable to teach her eldest daughter, zhao ren to be upright, thus leading to her death. Her character is another one that i dislike. Firstly, she done things that were wrong for the sake of her daughter, Zhao Ren like begging for money to help Zhao ren repay the military money that zheoren had stolen.Secondly, she forgave her daughter too easily - when she knew Zhao ren tried to murder Chang ping, she refused to tell Chongzhen about this. Thirdly, she listened to sweet talks easily - When Tian fei and her father begged for empress to forgive them, she actually forgave. She did not know that Tian fei was the reason that the empress was chased out of the palace for many years because of a plot. I find her role to be very tiny, doing nothing much for the dynasty(she did try to help Chong Zhen with accounts but what was the use?) until the end when they were chased out of Beijing because of the Qing. Then she started to show her empress power but isn't it too late???

Jay Lau as Tian Fei
She is the evil concubine of Chong Zhen. In order to become empress, she framed empress Chow. But in the end, Tian fei did not become empress, she also fall sick and become insane. I find her role to be less annoying. The most annoying character that i wanted to strangle was Princess Zhao Ren. Tian Fei spread rumours, stole military money and wanted to make use of Chen Yuan Yuan to get back the emperor. She also caused Yu Xian to die but in the drama, no one knew about the truth about Yu xian's death.

One Litre of Tears 1 Litre no Namida (Ichi Rittoru no Namida)

I had just finished watching one litres of tears. I seldom watched J-dramas. I think my last J-drama that i liked is GTO but that drama was ages ago.

The story of this drama is the true story of 15-year old, Kito Aya whom was diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Degeneration disease that do not have any known cure. Aya then kept a diary that recorded all her battle with this horrible illness till her death at 25. If you know Japanese, you may like to buy the book that is written only in Japanese(i believe). I only loved the actor(Fujiki Naohito) casting as the doctor in this drama. I meant i loved seeing his cute face. For the rest of the casts, i find their performance to be good too though they did not leave a deep impression for me. Sawajiri Erika, the actress casting as "Aya" has a good acting skills, the tears flowing when it is needed to flow (Unlike our local production where no tears come out at all even though they are supposed to be very sad). What i loved about this drama is how much love and support Aya's family gave to her.


In the flowerpod forum, there are a lot of people whom said that they cried on every episode(11 episodes) but for me, i only cried on certain part of the drama like:

1) For Aya's mummy tried to hide the truth of the illness from aya and the family. It is heart-breaking to see how the mum had put everything in her heart and yet not had the courage to reveal the truth.

2) When Aya's mummy told dad about the illness, both do not wanted to tell the seriousness of the illness to their daughter as they wanted aya to live a normal life just like the normal 15 year old kids.

3) At the school choir where Aya was performing, Their proud parents watched in tears. Shortly after the choir, their parents revealed the truth of Aya's illness to her.

5) How Aya reacted to the cruel truth of her illness, knowing that she will not be able to speak, walk, move in future.

6) I am touched by the many words that flashed across the screen at the end of every episode. This is followed by photographs of the real Aya. words that touched thousands of hearts is "Why do this illness choose me?" and "I wish for a time machine where i will be healthy again"

7) Towards Aya's last stage of her life in Earth, her diary was published. People with similar illness wrote to say how Aya had motivated them to be strong in life. I find it touching that such a simple diary can motivate so many people. That is the true value of life: Always have hope for a better tomorrow.

8) I believed the love story of this drama do not actually occur in the real Aya's personal life. But i am not too sure since i had never read the real dairy before. In this drama, the dad of Aya's Boyfriend was telling his son that their relationship would never worked out as Aya would not be able to talk, move in the future. Aya was asking her mummy if she will ever marry? it is sad that in Aya's heart, she just wished for a healthy self, fall in love, get marry, have kids and become a grandma eventually. Sadly her life ended at 25.

Watching Casino Royale

I had finally watched the lastest 007 movies. I am a great fan of all James Bond movies. I had watched every JB movies.

Daniel Craig is the latest actor casting as James Bond. I find him ok. My all-times favourite James bond were still Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan. I disliked the movie casting George Lazenby as 007 where 007 was married. But poor geroge only get to act in one lone movie unlike Daniel whom is confirmed to be acting for 3 more JB movies.

I do not like the plot of Casino Royale actually. (warning: spoilers included)

1) No Q. I loved the High-tech equipment used in the other movies. However, the director decided to be 'original'.

2) 007 was poisoned during a casino competition. I am amazed that he still can re-enter the game unaffected by the poison accumlating in his immune system. 007 is still a normal human, not superman. I will not be surprised if superman is poisoned and yet still can fly after villians, after all, superman is not a human.

3) Should 007 ever be so stupid as to give up his job for a woman? Vesper actually make James give up his job. In this site, it mentioned that James gave up his job because of the torture Le Chiffre done to him. I think it was not very clear in the movie why james decided to quit. My major guess is Vesper is the reason as at the time he submitted his resignation letter, he was in the yatch with vesper. Then what are they going to be doing for a living after James quited his job? somemore they still can afford to sail in a yatch. I do not think the money won at the casino by james can lasted forever. Of couse, vesper died in the end. All the woman that James loved died. Tracy, James only wife died in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Vesper died indirectly because of James too. The other bond girl in the movie, Solange died too.

4) I hated the torturing part of 007. It really turned me off to see a WW2 torture method still existing in the 21st century.

5) I did not actually know what the villians in this movie were doing. Unlike the earlier James Bond movies where the villians' intention were very clear, i find the villians in this movie stupid. Le, the main villian was stupid enough to invest in a failed mission to bomb the plane in the airport(if the airport lose money, Le will have made major earning in his investment) and thus losing his money. If Le was already earning big money from terrorists, why is there any need to bomb a newly launched airplane.

6) Woman is never stupid but the movie said otherwise. At another scene, one of the terrorists theatened to cut off the arms of Le's girlfriend,Valenka. Le did not protested or begged the guy not to do so. Later, Valenka still helped her boyfriend to poison James. Is she bird-brained or love-idiot? After all the earlier life or death situation, she will still be so willing to try to do tasks for her boyfriend. Maybe Valenka hoped that if her BF won, she will got the money as payback. After all, some real life 'beauties' are known to be after the money of the wealthy and not for love. That is also the reason why newspaper must always mentioned some big-shot so and so married a millionaire. Is it for love or for money? It is the big question mark in everyone's mind.

7) When James was poisoned and did not managed to put the wire back to the heart beat device and nearly died, Vesper came along at the most critical time to save him. of course, if James died, it will be the end of the story and worse still, no more james bond movies. I think i am reading too much of harry potter where harry was predicted to die in the final book 7 so i find it so connivent of the director to have an angel appearing all of a sudden. It would be better if the movie can have vesper upon seeing james leaving the table suddenly, get worried and decided to follow James. But NO... Vesper suddenly appeared to save James. maybe the director assumed we will know that vesper was worried and decided to check on James.


8) with so many filming mistakes made, isn't it 'fun' to try to spot all of them? but anyway i did not noticed any of the mistakes spotted by the site. But i though it will be nice to watch the movie again and try to spot them. It reminded me of a childhood game where you need to spot the differences between two pictures.

Ok..i would like to apologise for listing a whole lists of why i do not liked this movie. I do loved all the earlier movies except the one by George. But after a break of 2 years from the last movie, i though this movie will be more exciting. My favourite JB movies are 'from russia with love' and ' tomorrow never die'. And i loved michelle yeoh as the bond girl, she is the only bond girl that can fight.

1 Litre Of Tears

I am introduced by podders in flowerpod to watch the Japanese drama: 1 litre of tears. I had not watched it but according to what i know, this is a true story of a Japanese girl's diary. It reminded me of Anne Frank who died but her diary was sold to millions of people. I had read that the drama was very touching, i will be going to 'hunt' for the drama later.

'The silence of the kittens' reviews

Yesterday, sister and i watched 'The silence of the kitten' at National library, Drama centre. I am not feeling too well yesterday, had a bad sore throat and bad body ache for being too greedy to eat rambutans in two days continously.



The story started with a woman (Esther Yap) telling the story of how Raffles discovered the lion and Singapore is called Lion city. Then, it moved on to a family of four - a dad whom is a Minister, a mum whom is very kaisu about her daughter's study, a daughter whom is 10 and a son whom is in poly. The daughter picked a kitten and begged her mum to keep it. Unfortunately, the mum refused and asked the son to dump the kitten away. The son loved the kitten but cannot deny his mum's order. The son try to throw the cat to a bigger cat but the baby was bullied. Then he threw it in a hawker centre but the baby do not know how to find food and kept following the son. Finally, the son feed the kitten chicken rice and sneaked away. The kitten which tried to follow the son was killed in an accident by a car.

The story goes on to tell how the family was torn apart because of the conflict between the husband and his mum-in-law - one whom hate cats and one whom feeds strays cats. The daughter caught in the middle between her mother and her husband finally left her husband.

What I think of the play:
Anyway, i find the play quite funny. The dialogue between actors were very funny. I love the part involving the husband (casted by Timothy Nga) part in the play. It reflect singapore stand in cats very well..

My favourite scenes:
1) Eyebrows can do nothing in our face but without it, our face will look funny. Just like cats do nothing but without it, our society will be strange.
2) The minister and the different religion - How the Cat 'M' sign is formed, the minister overturned the story by saying that the M is just frown and cat is useless and all cats do is to take up space and drop fur.
3) In future, people will not say 'thank you' because if the other party answered ' you are welcome', there will be germ flying out of the mouth.. This is as a result that Cats are so called deem to be dirty.
4) How the minister told his mum-in-law to go to learn line dancing. The scenes then played the song :would you like to have a girl, hot like me and the casts went dancing.
5) The fight between the mum-in-law and her neighbour. The neighbour complained about the cats in the mum-in-law house. The fight involved a ninja fight, wrestling and a sumo fight.
6) The stand in the minister to cull cats in SARs

After the play, there was a Q&A session. The casts, director and script writer, Ovidia Yu appeared in front of us. I do not like how Ovidia answered one audience that feeding cats is not illegal but we will be catch for littering the place. Who told her that every cat feeder litter the area - it is just a number of black sheeps that litter and also people should know about responsible feeding.

Well, overall, her script is well written - i do not think it really reflect well on singapore's cats - some topics left to be unanswered - why is cats banned in HDB for years? -in the US, cats are allowed in flats, Why is there no laws that allow people to feed cats openly?- Italy do have a law that allowed people to feed cat, Why is sterilized cats being round up? The play reflect on Why people dislike cats and make complaints to town council and if couples had different issues about cats - One cat hater and One cat lover, they may ended in divorce, Minister's stand in cats - a big NO.

The Silence of the Kittens

Today, sister went to Tampines Mall to buy two tickets for "The silence of the kittens". It was a last minute decision, we did talked about whether we will be going. In the end, since sister was going to TM, she asked me if I want to go to watch. Sister has a 15% for student rate while I had a 10% using pacific net privicard. This is the first time i am using my pacific privicard.

Wonder if the show will be nice to watch..Anyway we bought the tickets for Friday, 4 August.

This is so funny..i had enjoy both version of the flash movie...and as the flash said:Truth is truth. A story is just a story.

I know that this is a real old movie that channel U had shown "donkey age" ago but i really love the songs sing by kou shibasaki. You will esp love this song if u understand the meaning of the words in the song, "Tsuki no Shizuku" (Tears of the moon). She's having a new release recently. will find out more abt her latest songs. I took a long time searching the net for the english translation of this song but at last i managed to find it.

Kou Shibasaki as Mitsuko. This scene is where she was abt to be gunned down by her classmate . Using friendship, mitsuko betrayed her friend and killed her, winning her a gun in her next hunt for survivor. She was later killed by another guy classmate whom decided sex was not anything.


Her new weapon where she used two more times before she was "eliminated" from the game

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -2005

I had just finished watching "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". It's of course a new re-made movie starring Johnny Depp as the Famous owner of the chocolate factory, Willy Wonka. The 1971 version had Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka.

As all can recalled, this movie is taken from Roald Dahl book of the same name. I loved Ronal Dahl books, he's one of my best actor when i was young.
Gene was rather unhappy abt the new remake version of "Charlie and the chocolate Factory", i wonder why he was unhappy in the first place. Without this new movie, ppl would never recall that he was the original actor as Willy in the first place. The orginal movie was made in 1971..that was donkey years ago.

I am rather impressed with Johnny depp as Willy Wonka. His expression esp when he tried to stop the children from doing something wrong was funny and it alway ended up that the wrong was done when he said: "Little boy" or "little girl" and the "notty" girl or boy always did what willy try to stop but failed.

This person did not really like the 2005 version:
In the movie, Willy said this: : "Everything in this room is edible. Even I'm edible."
(I think that this is only a movie, why care about what Willy said when the whole place is so beautiful, the movie part where willy said this is in a green field filled with edible chocolate.

Let me start with the storyline:

5 children from all parts of the world whom won the "Golden tickets" for eating Wonka Chocolate were invited to Willly Chocolate factory that was the world largest factory.




Augustus Gloop (Philip Wiegratz) was the first to discover the ticket. He loved to eat chocolate and was v happy when he bit a corner of the golden ticket off.
His "Fate" in the chocolate Factory:
Being a greedy boy, he dropped into the chocolate factory and was sucked to the chocolate making room.


eruca Salt (Julia Winter) was the second person. She was a spolit brat born with a silver spoon in her mouth. She demanded her father to give her the ticket. Her father made his factory operators open tons of chocolate before finding the second tickets.
Her "fate" in the factory:
She tried to steal a squirrel whom was cracking nuts despite willy warning. The squirrels treated her as bad nut and dumped her into the garage area.


Violet Beauregarde (Annasophia Robb) was the third person. She was a "boxer". She boxed herself to one ticket.
Her "Fate" in the factory:
She eaten a chewing gum that had all flavours and bloated up like a blueberry.


Mike Teavee (Jordan Fry) was the forth person to win the ticket. He was a video game addict.
His "Fate" in the factory:
He refused to listen to Willy and entered room where he was transported to a mini version.


Charlie (Freddie Highmore) was the last person and the winner of the gift that Willy promised to give to one lucky kid. He was born poor. He managed to pick a note to buy the lucky chocolate to the last golden ticket.
Being the last kid (others was in trouble), Willy asked him to be the owner of the chocolate factory. Charlie refused as this meant seperation from his family. Willy did not understand why family was so important till Charlie asked willy to find Willy's dad. Willy's dad did not want willy to be so engrossed in chocolate but willy refused to listen and leave home to seek his fortune. He was rather successful in his chocolate factory. Willy find that his dad still love him.
The story ended with willy, charlie and charlie's family eating dinner inside the chocolate factory. so charlie did get the chocolate factory.


Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. He is the owner of the chocolate factory and a genius inventor. He choose to leave home to fulfil his dream of chocolate despite the objection of his father. He was rather afraid of his father. Many times for the children whom were invited to the factory, Willy refused to say the word "parents". When Willy realised his chcolate had lost the taste and there was a downfall of business, it was Charlie whom made willy know that he need his father love. Willy and his dad were reunited when Charlie and him took the glass lift to find Willy's father.

Now, what is so interesting abt this movie is the new fascination that Roald Dahl came up with: 1) The Chocolate is made of waterfall and there a river of chocolate flowing inside the factory. 2) There is a transparent lift that can move to any floor, up, down, left, right, and in the air. 3) Whipped cream meant whipping the cow for milk.(well, sound cruel) 4) Training squirrels to crack nuts. The squirrels are real and really trained for 6 months to crack nuts. here the link of the training: http://www.ohjohnny.net/charlie/charlie.html 5) A new innovation where TV viewers can grab chocolate rite from the TV to be eaten. 6) Chewing gum of all flavour (this sound like harry potter) 7) A place full of edible stuff-This is the first part of the factory tour 8) Sheep with pink fur to be made into cotten candy 9) A machine that suck the chocolate river directly into the chocolate making room 10) Finding oompa-loompas ppl to work for Willy because cocon beans were the tiny ones'whoship' item. (It sound interesting to have tiny ppl working for you) Well..comparision are for the better despite the bad review abt this new movie. I think this year 2005 has many movie remade: The house of wax, Charlie and the chocolate factory and amityville horror.

TVB- The academy

Noted: spoliters included for those whom did not watched this show...And i placing chinese character in this blog for the actor names only and i think it going to come up in symbols as usual but never mind since i can preview it myself..sorry for the funny symbols.

I had just finished esp 29 to 31 of TVB: The academy. It's a v nice show. When my sister was in HK in Feb, HK was already showing this show and my sister was telling me how good is the drama.

What is the drama abt:
A group of newbies 'adventure' in police academy, this drama show a very detailed info of the training in the police academy for 27 weeks. Unlike other police detective drama like 'Detective Investigation Files' or 'Armed Reaction', the drama do not have any major crime investigation where the CID need to solve. Instead, the drama shows heart-warming cases of the newbies trying to learn to be a good policemen/women.eg
1) A woman cadet whose father would soon be chased out of the house because of the amount of junks the dad kept in the house. Upon learning abt the woman cadet plight, the fellow cadets helped to clear the house for the father.
2) A son who try hard to become a police realised that he had minor depression that make him unable to fulfil his father's dream of hoping his son to follow his footstep to be a policeman. The father realised his son was not happy with the stress of becoming a policeman and allow his son to follow his dream that is to set up a business.
3) A cadet completed a race against a rival class..even when the cadet know he will lose the match, he carried on running despite a bleeding knee and eventually completed the race with the cheers of his classmates

These are just little esp that make this drama so warming..i cried or had 'red' eyes on several parts..towards the ending, i was crying also.

Here the real spoliters:
Toward the ending, the cadat's coach'Lee' was killed. So sad, i wonder why the production must make Lee died when firstly,
Lee just found his long lost son,
secondly, his first love finally agreed on a date with him...but sadly before all this could happend, he died.

I cried for the parts where
1) at the hospital, Lee hold his hand out to his son and said' sorry'. Lee never knew he had a son because that time, Lee's lover left him without letting him know. It was the son's grandfather whom told Lee.
2) The Class that Lee taught at the police acadmy heard of Lee's news in the cafe.
3) The class realised that Lee had died in the duty
4) The part where Lee son's recall what Lee had done.

Here the lead character:

韋柏翹﹝陳鍵鋒飾) Sammul Chan - Lei Pa Kiu
He's Lee son. He only learnt of his birth father when Lee died. Pa Kiu hide his feeling a lot but it was Lee that taught him to reveal his inner mind. Pa Kiu entered the police academy because he need to earn money to let his grandpa had a better life. His mum died in the US and when he returned, he joined the academy. Pa Kiu's love is Fiona,Ma Hoi Lum. At first, Pa Kiu did not want to date with Fiona as he think he cannot match Fiona in term of family background. Fiona was a rich girl and Pa kiu grandpa worked as a gardener in Fiona's house. At a dance party, Pa Kiu scolded Fiona for forcing him to have the first dance with her. They began a cold war before Pa Kiu eventually realised that he loved Fiona and wish to date with her.




鍾立文﹝吳卓羲飾﹞ Ron Ng - Zhou Lup Mun
He is the rush type of person that act without thinking before his police academy coach, Lee turned him into a nicer person. Lup Mun entered the academy because he wished to anger Lee (the academy coach). Lup Mun 's parents was ungoing a divorce and in order to prevent Lup Mun from trying to make Lup Mun to reconcile the dad to the mum, the mum lies that Lee was counting her. This created a misunderstanding where Lup Mun hated Lee. Toward the end of the show, Lup Mun realised that Lee was actually a good coach. This was only when he realised that his dad was cheating on his mum and all along, Lee helped his mum by mental and financial support. Lup Mun love Ho Fa (Tavia Yeung). Their love did not come easily and smoothly because:
1) Ho fa's brother was jailed when Lup Mun caught him pickpocketing in the street
2) Ho fa's whole family were pickpockets for an additional income
Eventaully, Ho fa become Lup mum gf as ho fa's family supported her decision esp her brother whom told Fa to pursue her true love.



李文昇﹝苗僑偉飾﹞Lei Mun Sing (Michael Miu)
He was the coach at the police academy. He was very strict to the cadets because he wished them to have self-discipline and take the training seriously. He and pa Kui livin in the same house. Pa Kui's mum was Mum Sing lover before Pa Kui's mum left Mun Sing.Pa Kui or Sunny loved Lup mun's mum, ivy. Ivy did not accept sunny's love as fear of rejection from Ivy children's Lup mum and miki. Sadly, on the day Ivy accepted sunny love, sunny died.Their love was somehow a drag in this show...i did not really liked to watched the love development of them.

I esp liked the part where Pa kui and Mun Sing chatted in the house. At first, Pa Kui did not speak to Mun Sing but soon, they began to chat and went out together to fish. Pa Kui was in fact Sing real son. Mum Sing only learnt of the truth when Pa kui's stepfather tried to cheat Pa Kui's money and told him that Pa Kui was not his real son. Pa Kui never know that his current dad was not his birth father till his grandfather revealed the secret. Sadly, Mun Sing died of a gun wound.


馬靄琳﹝薛凱琪飾﹞Ma Hoi Lum (Fiona Sit)
Fiona (as in her real name) was quite cute in this show. See how short is her hair. Girls cadets need to shorten their hair when they entered the academy. She entered the academy as she wished to meet her hero, Mun Sing. Mun rescused her from a trapped car two years ago and since then, Fiona wished to become a policewoman to meet her hero. Fiona was a super rich girl and her mum opposed her to be a policewoman. Fiona loved Pa Kiu and tried very hard to win him. When Fiona's mum tried to matchmate fiona to a rich man's son, Fiona objected to this badly as she know that she only love Pa Kiu . At the annoucement of a supposed marriage proposal, fiona purposly invited Pa Kiu for a first dance that Pa Kiu rejected immediately. Pa Kiu was not happy that fiona embarrassed him by asking for the first dance unprepared. In truth, fiona invited Pa Kiu for the first dance as she wanted Pa Kiu to know she love him. After their cold war, their relationship turned better and they ended up together altought pa kiu asked fiona to wait till they completed their 27 weeks of training to begain their offical dating. Fiona was duped twice in this drama by her stupid handphone:
1) kidnapped when Ho Fa's brother got fiona hp number and asked her for a coffee chat. in fact, Ho fa's brother owned money and was forced to duplicate a key from fiona.
2) Duped of $10 000 from Ka Kiu's stepfather whom try to get fiona hp number by asking to call her phone to his own phone, thus getting fiona's number. Once getting the number, the dad asked fiona to lend him $10000 for a deposit on a US farmhouse that do not exist

In real life, Fiona is a popular singer in HK.


何花﹝楊怡飾﹞ Ho Fa (Tavia Yeung)-
Ho fa was born in a family of pickpockers. I do not want to mention more of her characters as i am rather sick of her face. TVB seem to use her on almost every drama. She loved Lup Mun and they ended up together with the support of both their families.
